Can a believer get involved with politics? (Part 3).
Continuing to answer the questions.
Take the example of Jesus. Although the Roman Empire was very tyrant, salacious, unrighteous, etc., at no moment we see Jesus fighting against Herod or Pilate, let alone with the centurions and his soldiers. On the contrary:
• Mat 5:39-41 -> “But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.”.
Not even we see Jesus fighting against the thieves, assailants, whores, tax collectors, pagan idolaters, etc. On the contrary:
• Mat 5:44-45 -> “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”.
The only moment that we see Jesus quarreling is with the religious leaders. Nonetheless, what was the weapons that He used?
1 - The sword of the Holy Spirt (His Words);
2 - the belt of His Truth;
3 - the shield of His faith (showing that we need to be faithful to the Creator until the death, even if His mission for us have painful moments – Phil 2:5-8);
4 - His justice, included in His grace and mercy when He healed diseases and expelled demons;
5 - the helmet of His salvation (when He forgave sins and, thereby, putting on the feet with the shoes of the peace with the Creator (2Cor 5:18-20))
6 - and all of this, of course, always praying in order to know the Father’s will.
In this case, yes, Jesus fought and, if someone crave for fighting spiritually against the religious leaders who corrupt and twist the Holy Scripture in order to make business from the souls of people (as prophesied in 2Peter 2:1-3; Rev 18:13), can count on me. What I can do in order to help to unmask these false prophets, pastors, etc., as well as their perverted “gospel”, can count on me (Gal 1:6-9).
On the other hand, to create a state governed by Jesus isn’t the solution. There are two proofs in the Holy Scripture which show that this doesn’t work:
1 – In the Old Testament, Israel, was governed directed by the Creator, having as law what was given by Moses. Nonetheless, uncountable times we see Israel apostatizing of the faith, even though they experienced all the miracles and deliverances of the Creator, even though they were privileged with the most perfect and righteous law (Rom 3:2).
In the end, they killed the most perfect man that existed (Jesus Christ) and until today they are in struggles waiting for the antichrist (to whom they think to be their messiah).
2 – In Revelation, we have Jesus reigning for 1.000 years and, nevertheless, after so much time seeing all the marvelous and perfection of His kingdom, Ha-Satan will be able to join all the nations to fight against Jerusalem (Rev 20:7-9).
For the nonce, have a good day experiencing the true kingdom now in your heart:
• Luk 17:20,21 -> “And being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God should come, he answering them and said: The kingdom of God cometh not with observation. Neither shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For lo, the kingdom of God is within you.”.
Tomorrow we will continue to answer the questions.
