Can a follower of Christ be police officer or judge? (Part 3)
And what about us? What should we do?
We should use the weapons of the Holy Spirit (Eph 6:10-18). After all:
• 2Co 10:3-5 -> “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”.
We need to believe in the supremacy of the power of the grace:
• Rom 5:20 -> “Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,”.
More: we need to believe that Jesus is in control of everything (pore on Rev 4,5). Of, course, many times, the things look like a rundown train:
• Heb 2:7,8 -> “You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under his feet.” Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.”.
Nonetheless:
• Rom 8:28 -> “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”.
We need to focus on the good that Jesus conquered for us:
• 1Co 2:9 -> “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— “.
• Eph 2:4-6 -> “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—*by grace you have been saved*— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”.
It is clear: we are saved by the grace (Eph 2:8,9), and not through laws, condemnation and death (2Cor 3:7-9).
So, have a good day staying in this grace. After all:
• Eze 7:13 -> “For the seller shall not return to what he has sold, while they live. For the vision concerns all their multitude; it shall not turn back; and *because of his iniquity, none can maintain his life*.”.
• Luk 12:15 -> “And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, *for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions*.” “.
