hello-seed-time-harvest.In answer to your question,how can you stop A bad thought ,and if this is a sin; It is not a sin,because we are made in the image of God in knowing good and evil ; we canot stop the birds from coming to the tree but we can stop them from making a nest, As it is written, sin shall have no DOMINION over you for you are not under the law but under grace; what then shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace; GOD FORBID. many don't understand what meens to be perfect in the bible, please note James 3:2 the man that keeps his word IS a perfect man.

You tell me this, even after believing, will you stop sinning in the flesh? Truth is, we can't. Because the flesh was basically born to sin. It was born into a world of sin, and the only thing it can do right, is sin. But the spirit however is completely different. Before, the spirit was dead in sin. Now, the spirit is dead to sin for those who believe in the absolute truth of the water and spirit. The attacks for a believer is much stronger than a non-believer. Why? Because Satan will do everything in his power to make us turn to him, and away from God. And honestly, it works sometimes. But not all the time. If we truly know what Christ has done for us, no matter how many times Satan shows us who we really are, we can use it to our advantage. It's because of our sin that we turned to God. The fact that we can never fulfill the Law made us turn to God. And we'll keep falling because it's the only thing still making us turn back to Him. If you have it all good after believing, and sin no more has control over you, what makes you think that you won't walk away from God that easily? Because I've seen many people do it. I did it once. But that was the worst mistake of my life. And now, I was given a second chance. And God, never fails me. Yes, Christ did come to pay for sin. But He came to eradicate that barrier known as sin that was once in between us and God. Now, that barrier is gone for believers. But the flesh isn't part of it. That flesh belongs to this world And from the day we are born till the day we die, we will sin. But what Christ wants us to know is that the flesh will always sin, but the spirit was the one that was given salvation. And because Christ died, the spirit is liberated and free.

Hello Seed-Time-Harvest;in respond to your question how you stop this,try 2 cor 10:4-6 which says for the Weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down Imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the Knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, verse 6 And being ready to punish All disobedience when your obedience is Fulfilled... Can people live a sinless life? Of course.
Are they required to? No.

That is right on.
Jesus is making a new creation in his image.
He was sinless.

It might sound fearful but the opposite is true.
However, the GATE, of baptism is smitten.

Isa.24
[12] In the city is left desolation, and the GATE is smitten with destruction.


Jesus said to strive >> against opposition << to enter in the Strait Gate.
There are various opposition to baptism, but GOD' people have opened ears.
This work is by Jesus in those who come to him.
If someone sees Jesus as a nice man, who meant well, then that person does not know Jesus.

He will not come to weak man to save him.

Not possible. To say such a thing is blasphemy as to assert such an untruth is in essence to say that you are God.
 
No, we can't live without sin since we remain in the flesh but it should be our goal to no to sin to please God, also we can't live in sin like sinning on the same sin over and over again, Holy spirit speaks to us when we are practicing something wrong so we repent and God is so merciful that he forgives us even though he let us to experience the consequences so we don't do it again just like father with his son.

I couldn't find that web link you gave.

But, I refer you to the following scriptures to answer your question.

1John3:9
Whoever has been born of God does NOT sin, for His seed remains in him; and he CANNOT sin, because he has been born of God.

1Pet 4:1
Therefore, since Christ suffered (crucified) for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind (our old man crucified with him, Rom 6:6), for he who has suffered in the flesh (Rom 6:6) has CEASED from sin,

1Pet 4:18
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear?
Here we see 2 very different groups described.
Group 1: saved, righteous.
Group 2: ungodly, sinner.


Gal 2:15
We who are Jews (Christians, Rom 2:29) by nature, and NOT sinners of the Gentiles,



So we see scripture does not describe Christians as sinners.
How can this be when it's clear that we are far from perfect in behavior?

Lets define "sin" first and then we can see whether it applies to Christians.

Sin is:
Unbelief in Jesus. John 16:9. This is the sin that the world is convicted of.
Transgression of the law, 1John 3:4. And whatever the law says it says to those under it, Rom 3:19.
Are Christians under the law?
Answer: No, Rom 8:2, Rom 10:4, Gal 3:24, Gal 5:18, 1Tim 1:9.
hence Christians cannot be charged with the sin of transgression of the law.

Rom 8:33
Who shall lay ANY THING (which includes sin) to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.



In the physical Christians are not perfect, but being in Christ we cannot be charged with "sin", as in Christ there is no sin, 1John 3:5. Our faith is counted for righteousness, Rom 4:5.

Really? You have the gall to tell us to lay aside the bible and read your article to obtain proper doctrine? Please read the bible where we are told time and again to stop sinning, to go and sin no more....
 
maybe it's being missunderstood both things are truth, we can't live totally sinless but it is true God ask us no to sin anymore once we become his children, so we are spiritually fighthing daily with our flesh to please God instead of ourselves but since we remain in the flesh we still make mistakes and fall at times but we repent and come to God again.

My the correct baptism.

My Father obeyed it when he was 75 and was as shocked as everyone else.
He ran back to Church to tell but what do suppose happened....

Your teahcers have hurt you.
They were not Spiritual men but Philosophers.
Now GOD has to do his will....

Let me put it another way, I was trying to be kind before. It is not true that God will take away a human's ability to choose to obey him or choose to disobey God. If you interpret scripture as saying this, you are not reading all of scripture and you are not listening to God. We cannot make ourselves into robots.

It is possible to live perfect or without sin thru Jesus Christ. In Philippians 3:12 paul states he has not yet become perfect but presses on to the goal. Then about 10 to 15 years later in 2 Timothy 4:7 he states he has reached the goal. Jesus said the way is difficult and few be that find it, But its there. To say it is not possible is to say Jesus is not capable of such a thing.

Please clarify your statements here, Jesus was the only one born without a sin nature....he was without a sin nature and therefore perfect. We have a sin nature and will never be perfect, we can have victory ove rmany sins and not sin again, but we will never be perfect as Jesus

Never said paul was born perfect. But when you get to the point where you can say, it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me then you will be perfect, but no boasting for it is not you that is perfect but Christ in you that is complete.
 
I believe 1 John 3:9 is true because of what Paul says in Gal 5:18 "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law." and Rom 4:15 [SUP] "[/SUP]for the Law brings about wrath, but where there is no law, there also is no violation." It is not because we stop sinning completely, but that it is no longer counted against us. Paul also says , "I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good. [SUP] [/SUP]For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. Rom 7:21-25

yes we are holy for God through his son, but here in earth we still make mistakes so we are not 100% sinless though I couldn't say we can behave just as a non believer, God's grace is still working inside of us, and it is our goal to not to sin but still we fall at times but we repent and come to God to ask him guidence and strength so we don't do it again.
