Salvation is about Jesus, not a denomination.
Anyone who truly believes in Jesus as Savior is saved. A person can be a Catholic and be saved, just as a Protestant can be completely lost. Your relationship with Christ—based on the Bible alone—is what matters.
However, we must be wary of institutional traditions that add to or take away from Scripture:
Institutional Catholic Dogmas:
The Roman Catholic system evolved into a political entity starting with Emperor Constantine (313 AD), who merged the Church with Roman imperial power. Over centuries, men invented offices like the centralized Papacy and added late dogmas like the Immaculate Conception of Mary (1854).
The Bottom Line:
Any group—Catholic or Evangelical—that alters the Word of God is wrong. Not every individual Catholic believes these institutional errors, but we must test everything against the Bible. Your religion won't save you; only faith in Jesus Christ will.

It should be clarified, anyone who believes in Jesus is a “Christian”
I did a longer post to your question, but just wanted to add that whether someone is Baptist or Catholic or Non-denominational, if one has declared Jesus to be their savior they are a Christian.
A denomination is more about the way a congregation worships and gathers. It’s all about what YOU believe. Salvation is a RELATIONSHIP with God and only Jesus knows one’s heart. If you believe Jesus is your Lord and know the Bible to be true (following God’s commands as best you can) you are saved.

I looked at your profile and wanted to say, Stay close to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Your testimony is critical for the coming weeks and months. Work on it as much as possible.
We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. We have salvation in his kingdom. He claims us.
So as we enter into the tribulation era, do not give in to doubt. He is with you and all his many saints.
It would be nice to leave in a pre-tribulation rapture. But, I am afraid we will not do that. We are to give our testimonies that Jesus Christ is our God and none else.
So draw close to Jesus now. Strengthen your testimony.
Jesus Christ is our best friend. He provides us with what we need to survive on this earth. And although the coming trials will cut us to the core, he is with us.

When my mother was dying in 2010, I told her to stay close to Jesus. And that is the bottom line. Stay close to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. I testify to you that he lives and he loves us. Draw closer to our Savior every day.

It's not a misunderstanding. Words mean something, and some Catholics do pray to saints. Whether these Catholics have misunderstood Catholic doctrine is another matter. But I've witnessed it.
That anyone in the communion of saints can ask dead saints to intercede is extra-biblical at best (i.e. not something a doctrine should be built upon). More likely, it borders on or is necromancy, which is a grievous sin.
You must be God's elect and receive the Holy Spirit to be saved.

Catholics aren't Christians if you feel this need for them, then you don't have Christ.
Yes, boys and girls, it is true! The Vatican has ordered the world’s estimated 1.4 billion Catholics to no longer refer to Mary as the “co-redeemer” of the world, reaffirming that only Jesus Christ came to save humanity by offering salvation and eternal life to all who believe in Him. yes, that's a bad thing. forget it. being born again Christian is what Jesus taught. ( John 3:5 ). i was raised catholic & when 12 years of age, God's spirit said to me: "there's something wrong with this catholic religion, they tell you the same thing every year, they don't teach you anything"!
