Can we be saved without using our free will to choose?
There is no freedom of the will before being quickened, or born again
by the will of God:
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13, KJV)
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us:
whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. (Acts 16:14, KJV)
A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. (Ps 110:1-3, KJV)
Peter, starting at Acts 2:29ff, applied this to Jesus’ reigning from heaven, beginning at the ascension.
Paul tells us why “Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power” –
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is
God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Phil 2:12-13, KJV)
There is no willing or doing for the dead, and only when quickened, born again, does the believer have any good will, to believe:
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Eph 2:4-9, KJV)
