Can you be truely happy in heaven??

The other day, someone asked me this question and I have no idea how to answer them so maybe someone here can help. How can you be truly happy in heaven if you don't see someone you know there? For example, if you were in heaven and didn't see your grandparents or other deceased family members, friends, etc, how could you be truly happy?
 
It is something we cannot fathom but it was written what Jesus said in the bible (may not be the exact just ref it) "Where your treasure is, your heart will be there too". So my guess even though they may have not entered you will feel them because you brought them with you in your heart. this is my opinion

I beleive that what counts most is being with God. That is the real happiness of being in heaven, praising Him together with others that also are Saved. There is different thoughts about whether you will recognice loved ones or not, yet we will all have a connection in some way, I think. We do will be our own unique selves in heaven as we are here on earth, we are just going to get a new and more perfect body in Christ.

Still, I think we will all be a lot more focused on God up there than in humans. It is all about Him! :)

Also some thinks of how one can rejoice knowing that some didn't make it getting to heaven. God does will wipe away every tear from our faces, and all our pain will be gone. We will only have an immense joy within us, filled up with praising to Him. Yet it is difficult to fully understand this, also I many times wonder "how long is forever?" and "What about if God would get tired of us sometime?" These things have easily been worrying me sometimes, since I wish to live always, and not to suddenly find myself to disappear into becoming "Nothing".

We will only find out how it will be in heaven, once we are there. ;) :) Also, it is best to not worry too much, and trust everything will go fine. As long as we will be with God, this is what is most important. :) -God Bless-
 
I ike to believe that we will be so happy being with Him, that just being in His presence and recieving revelation about all those things we didn't know or understand, we will be at peace.

CT, I don’t think heaven is what a lot of people think it is. I think heaven is a state of mind we have after we repent of our sin. I think we all pass on to the resurrection after we die. The resurrection and heaven are two different things, I think.
 
Thanks for the responses everyone.. I also believe that being with God is what counts the most, but when I told my friend this, he insisted that he wouldn't be happy if he didn't know where his family and friends were. He said he'd be happy with God, but didn't think he would be able to be in complete happiness if he didn't see them...

I suspect we’ll all be together in the next life, bet we all have a lot of work to do first.
 
That's true.. we all have a lot of work to do first. I kindof agree with him though, that I would be able to be truly happy if I knew that someone I loved on Earth wasn't in Heaven. Perhaps though, I will be filled with so much happiness at being with our Lord, that I won't have the time or desire to wonder about them..?

I think they will all be there.

Like I said, I don’t I don’t think heaven is a place. Read this:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV

I believe Jesus is telling us that when we repent of our sin, our worries disappear. That is heaven.

I think we will all live forever in the resurrection, after we die.

 
Okay, but whenever I repent of my sins here on earth, all my worries don't automatically disappear. I still have them.

What is the difference between Heaven and the Resurrection?

After you repent of your sin, you have to wait a little while for your worries to disappear, because you need to prove to yourself that your repentance is sincere.

Heaven, it would seem to me, is your state of mind after you repent of your sin.

The resurrection would be the actual place we go after we leave this earth.

I am not all-knowing, but my experience in life suggests what I am telling you is true.
