Long version:
NFTs are either a fad or a scam, depending on who you ask. It's like cryptocurrency but with pictures. It's like beenie babies, but the beenie babies are just pictures on your computer.
See, a few years ago a group of people with computers (A) convinced a group of people with money (B) that A could make pictures that B could own. And group A made a bunch of pictures with slight variations (cartoon monkey with hat, cartoon monkey with sunglasses, cartoon monkey with turtleneck, cartoon monkey with hat and turtleneck, cartoon monkey with...) and sold them to group B as investments.
The most expensive NFT to date was sold for 91.8 million dollars.
And everybody else laughed at group B. But some of group B still insist they have made good investment choices and if they hang on to these computer image files long enough they will be worth something again someday.
So yeah, that collection of giraffe pictures looked like a new set of "giraffe on vacation" NFTs.
