The widow Freitag lived with her adult children Anna and Aaron and pet cat Nellie which they all had the most dear attachment to as Nellie was a rescue cat from their neighbors who lost everything in a fire. Aaron was often required to be on the road for weeks at a time on business and would call home often to check in. On one such occasion after being gone for a week Aaron called home and when Anna answered the first question from Aaron was to know how Nellie was for he had a premonition and Anna excitedly and tearfully shouted into the phone, “Nellie is dead!” Aaron was shocked and perturbed that Anna was so blunt, where upon he scolded her and suggested that she could have broken the news to him gradually, saying, “you should have told me Nellie is on the roof and we can't get her down,” and the next time I would call you could say, “Nellie fell off the roof and we took her to the vet,” and then the next time I called you could tell me, “the vet did all possible but poor Nellie succumbed to her injuries.” You were very insensitive the way you just blurted out, “Nellie's dead”. Now let me talk to mom. Where upon Anna replied, “mom is on the roof”.
