Cannibis (marijuana) thumbs up or down?

I just wanted to see what people believe.
either thumbs up: u believe God made it
or thumbs down: its a sin against God

Remember that only God is the Judge. no one else
 
Thumbs down. My body is a temple and to pollute it is a travesty
 
I only believe in using it strictly for medicine purposes.
 
I don't know about what would be a sin or not, but, I know that when people are feeling healthy, they are also feeling happy.

It is my understanding (which I could be misinformed) that marijuana is used to ease the pain of cancer patients. If this is true then I would think that using weed to help the person feel more comfortable in their life as they pass away couldn't be a sin, could it?

I am not young, and have watched both my mother and mother-in-law, as well as all grandparents pass away ... and I would like to tell people that they are at peace moments before death, but, they weren't ... they were afraid. Fear of the unknown, fear from the pain, fear from feeling helpless ... and I think it would be nice if marijuana helped them to relax and not be afraid to make that transition.

So, I would have to conclude that it is God made, any maybe put here for that very reason ?? Of course, I don't know about God much, so I really don't know.

A very interesting dilemma. On the one hand, marijuana is generally illegal, and God instructs us to obey the laws of our land. On the other hand, it has medicinal purposes, and God is the provider and instigator (I believe) of all healing. I guess I would have to conclude that marijuana for strictly medicinal purposes, like easing the pain of terminal patients, is not a sin. However, I think we need to be careful not to broaden the definition of "medicinal purposes" too far. Remember, God knows our true motives. "[Jesus] said to them 'You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.'" (Luke 16:15)
 
I don't view it any different than smoking cigarettes. It potentially leads anyone to the likes of cancer, emphysema and the whole lot of them, just as cigarettes do.
It's designed to relax you and how could anyone go wrong with that? Maybe God frowns upon it, maybe He doesn't. I think the view of it in society has alot to do with most people's thoughts on it though.
 
I think it depends on how you use it. It is illegal for one, which automatically is enough of a reason to not do it. We are to obey the law. However, in the case of medical marijuana, I also think it can be helpful. God also made fire, carnivorous animals, and other harmful things... but they also serve their purpose. I do believe that there is a reason God made weed, but I don't think it's necessarily right for humans to smoke it. There is a verse in Isaiah however that refers to smoking for meditative purposes and I have yet to study that out. I was just talking about it the other day with some people. In my opinion, it should be legalized for many many reasons that I'm not going to go into in this post. But to answer you, yes, God made it. Is it a sin? It can be, and it could have good uses as well. So, one thumbs up and one thumbs in the middle?

and ashley...just because a government claims something to be illegal, doesn't mean it's wrong. if they could find a way to legalize it and sell it in packs like cigarettes, they would. i think some ppl can be a little too passive with regard to the government's claims
 
Oh I know that. But, just because something isn't wrong but it is illegal doesn't mean it's ok to do it. I like to speed, but the government says not to. So I try not to. God commands us to live by the government, unless they say we have to do something that goes directly against God. As for being passive with the government, I'm not going to fight. God has a plan and I'm just letting it unfold itself. Whatever He wants to happen will happen. It's not like He's up there making it up as He goes along. Personally, I think the only thing wrong with marijuana is that it is illegal. There are plenty things that are worse for you and society than weed, cigarettes being one example. BUT, that is MY opinion. This is a forum where we share opinions. So. No judgment from anyone about my opinions please.
 
Well I'm not the expert but this question was asked to me once before and the guy got really mad at my answer and said i was judging him but here goes again. I think people miss read the Lords word, Thats another subject. To answer your question sin is in many forms. Not just smokes drugs it can be any addiction to anything that MAN(women/men) puts before God. so in short with going thru the whole thang again and getting fussed at. this is the short version. whatever you take in the body thro the mouth does not defile the body but what comes out your mouth is what defiles the body. so if you smoke maj.. and it causes you to be a bad person and changes your thot patern the it is a sin. God is love and love is God. the same can be said about chocolate people are addicted to that and if they don't get it then they are evel speaking coffie is another and so on. God said that he made all the herbs in the field for food. and it was good. but when you do aginst that then i guess that is a sin. but once again there is nonthing in the bible about it. you have to study it for yourself and pray to The Lord for the answer. my answer is that if it cause you to be a changed person then yes its a sin.
