Psalm 139 ESV

7(I) Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where(J) shall I flee from your presence?
8(K) If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
(L) If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10even there your hand shall(M) lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11If I say,(N) "Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,"
12(O) even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.

A lil poem I saw in a book I just got....

Presence by T.E. Brown...

Expecting him, my door was open wide
Then I looked round
If any lack of service might be found,
And saw him at my side:
How entered, by what secret stair,
I know not, knowing only he was there.

Wow, I really like that. You're right you just can't get away from Psalm 139. It's gotta be one of my favourites. Actually, just recently, it really impacted me. I know I've read it like a zillion times, but I was going through a whole bunch of stuff in my life and I'd come to therock-bottom point of brokeness and I felt drawn to that passage. When I read it, I wept. It occured to me, that I have to stop trying to handle situations in my own flesh. God is clearly in control! I've tired to figure things out on my own... and it just doesn't work.

The whole Psalm is amazing... it's true we can't flee from His presence (and well, why would we want to?)
