Carry over from "kick them out" thread, Dealing with Cobus' perfect doctrine
Cobus said;
1. The doctrine I hold to is biblical and does not make God out to be a failure. James 3:2 states "we all stumble in many things..." Cobus, the doctrine I hold to does make every genuine believer in Christ perfect and complete in two ways. First the sacrifice of the Lamb covers the sins of all who genuinely call on HIS name. [Romans 10:13; [SUP]13 [/SUP]For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”]Second, we after we receive the Christ, we begin to grow in Christ, the transformation. [Ephesians 4:13-16; [SUP]13 [/SUP]till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; [SUP]14 [/SUP]that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, [SUP]15 [/SUP]but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— [SUP]16 [/SUP]from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.][2 Peter 3:18][2 Thessalonians 1:3][Philippians 1:9][Romans 12:2] [Philippians 1:6; [SUP]6 [/SUP]being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;][Philippians 2:12] All these verses in brackets deal with the growth of a believer (and many more other verses I didn't mention). The difference between what you teach and what the bible teaches is as we are justified by His blood, we are sanctified and are being sanctified. [Hebrews 10:14; [SUP]14 [/SUP]For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.]
My conclusion on my first point is God is has not failed, but is conforming us to the likeness of His son [Romans 8:29]. Second, His grace and mercy abounds in our shortcomings, but yes we should not take advantage of that! What a loving and most graceful Lord we have in spite of our infirmities. Out of time, I may come back to make another point.

[h=3]Faith Triumphs in Trouble[/h]5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[SUP] http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+5&version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-28049a[/SUP]peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, [SUP]2 [/SUP]through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; [SUP]4 [/SUP]and perseverance, character; and character, hope. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
[h=3]Christ in Our Place[/h][SUP]6 [/SUP]For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. [SUP]8 [/SUP]But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. [SUP]11 [/SUP]And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
[h=3]Death in Adam, Life in Christ[/h][SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— [SUP]13 [/SUP](For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. [SUP]14 [/SUP]Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. [SUP]15 [/SUP]But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. [SUP]16 [/SUP]And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. [SUP]19 [/SUP]For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, [SUP]21 [/SUP]so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I hope you don't lie by saying I don't offer scripture like you did in another post!
Cobus said;
Again Bookie I have No problem with you. I am not a acceptor of the person, I have a problem with your doctrine shaming God as a failure.... How do we become perfect? By God implanting His HOLY SPIRIT IN US... the moment HE ENTERS we are made perfect...At the END of the salvation process....
Never did I say it is on our works or strength, so I have NO idea where you get that idea from. I always said... God starte with a sinner and take him throug HIS sALVATION PROCEss... here is the process ONCE AGAIN... Calling - Justification - Glorification...
God calls sinner justify him to saint and perfects the saint with the Holy Spirit.... As easy as that...
It is not by works of our power but grace that also includes faith.... Without the grace and faith God cannot do it... we have to have BOTH... Grace is taking us all the way if we GROW IN FAITH.... Nobody grown in HOLY SPIRIT.... He is given when the saint is perfected... The Truth the Love and the faith grows, and the OLD DIES, but when God puts His Spirit in a saint, the process is COMPLETE....
IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO BECOME PERFECT... IT IS THE SALVATION OF GOD THAT DOES THAT JOB... HIS SALVATION not ours... HE SAVES US, that is why it WORKS THIS TIME... In the Old Testament they did not HAVE JESUS TO REMOVE SIN....
