5)MARY
"Mary was involved in the Mysteries of Christ. As the most holy Mother of God she was, after her son, exalted...above all angels and human beings. Hence, the Church appropriately honors her with a special cult or devotion. The Church's devotion to the Blessed Virgin is an intrinsic element of Christian worship." (from The Dictionary of the Liturgy, p. 390-391). "Thus, at every liturgical celebration, Mary the Mother of God is with us -- as our Model, our Intercessor," ...."Each Marian celebration is also intended to give us a better understanding of Mother Mary and her part in our salvation." (p. 393). "In all perils and needs, the faithful have fled prayerfully to her protection." (p. 391).
a) Mary was not immaculately conceived, she needed a Savior like everyone else(she even says so):
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." Luke 1:46-47
Yes, Luke 1:46-47 shows Mary the mother of Jesus speaking("And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" Luke 1:43)
Now that we've established Mary as a sinner, she could not even be eligible for saving man(or partly saving man), because she had sin. Just one sin was enough to make her guilty of the whole law("For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." James 2:10). Christ was without sin which allowed Him to save sinners like us:
"For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;" Hebrews 7:26
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:21
"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" 1 Peter 1:18-19
The Old Testament showed that a sacrifice of an animal must be without blemish(ie: Leviticus 1:3) to be acceptable to God. Christ is the only person without sin, which makes him the ONLY means of salvation for us(John 14:6). Mary the mother of Jesus was a sinner just like us. The Catholic church lies to say she was immaculately conceived and that she has a "part in our salvation".
Mary is not our mediator, as plainly taught in the Word of God:
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" 1 Timothy 2:5
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God." Romans 8:26-27
"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25
6)CATHOLIC CHURCH AND STATUES
The catechism states:
"Sacred images in our churches and homes are intended to awaken and nourish our faith in the mystery of Christ. Through the icon of Christ and his works of salvation, it is he whom we adore. Through sacred salvation, it is he whom we adore. Through sacred images of the holy Mother of God, of the angels and of the saints, we venerate the persons represented." Pg. 307, #1192
The Catholic church commands their followers to make statues. In an attempt to cover up the church's defiance of Scripture, they change the ten commandments by leaving out "graven images" to perpetuate their traditions:
1. I am Yahweh your God. You shall have no gods except me.
2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's day.
4. Honor Your father and your mother.
5. You shall not kill.
6. You shall not commit adultery.
7. You shall not steal.
8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor."
-The Dictionary of the Liturgy: "Q. 537. (pgs. 121-122)
"And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;" Exodus 20:1-5
"I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Isaiah 42:8
"Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female," Deuteronomy 4:15-16
"Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth." Deuteronomy 16:22
Making "sacred images of the saints", etc...commanded by the catechism clearly violates Deuteronomy 4:15-16(...the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female) and a host of other Scripture.
7)INTERPRETING THE WORD OF GOD
from the catechism:
"The task of interpreting the Word of God authentically has been entrusted solely to the magisterium of the Church, that is, to the Pope and to the bishops in communion with him." Pg. 30, #100
When the Bereans heard the word(Acts 17:10), they searched the Scriptures for themselves. The Word commands us to search the Scriptures. It is a lie that interpreting the Word of God is solely for the pope and bishops.
"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:11
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. " 2 Peter 1:20
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15
"Search the scriptures;..." John 5:39
The Holy Ghost does the interpreting, not the pope or other religious leader:
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:..." John 16:13
"Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual." 1 Corinthians 2:13
"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11
If only the pope and bishops can understand the correct interpretation of the Word, then why does God command us to memorize Scripture and study it? It is those leaders who want to bind you to their religion. They have seduced you into lies from demons. Consider this warning, which can describe such leaders as those in the Catholic church:
"These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." 1 John 2:26-27
