wow! a myriad collection of possibilities of the mind involved. all together, i am mostly a different type of person. From Google:
"Chalk and cheese" is a common British idiom used to describe two people or things that are completely different from each other, despite sometimes sharing a superficial similarity like a white color. Users across online communities on facebook generally agree that the phrase highlights a stark contrast in personalities, habits, or traits.
Meaning and Usage
History
- Complete contrast: Highlights that two subjects have nothing in common.
- Similar appearance, different nature: Refers to items that may look alike at a quick glance but are completely opposite in reality.
- People or things: Used for siblings, friends, spouses, or objects and places.
- 14th-century origin: First recorded in John Gower's 1393 poem Confessio Amantis.
- Deceptive trade: Originally referred to dishonest merchants passing off cheap chalk as valuable cheese.
got it. my wife & i have many diffs but we work well together in work & play time. she always says, "we are a team"! also, we are both extremely independent. she owns a fierce ambitious attitude to take on chores, projects, tasks, challenges & adventures. i'm also the same way. i hate asking anyone for help. It's most commonly referred to odd couples. Like people say they are 'like chalk and cheese' meaning they are completely different and have nothing in common and you wonder why they are married/going out together.

Yes because Las Vegas has gambling, amazing buffets, fancy resort hotels and famous singers/performers. Dave and Busters doesn't have any of that. Vegas also hosts big sporting events like champion fights and now indy car racing.wot.
Ok. But people do say Las Vegas is the adult Disneyland. So yea. Othewise known as 'Sin City'.
The children growing up there absolutely hate it I heard. Their parents just spend their lives gambling.
yea I heard about the residencies, not just for oldies, but maybe singers like Celine Dion, Britney Spears, etc who were popular in the 90s.Yes because Las Vegas has gambling, amazing buffets, fancy resort hotels and famous singers/performers. Yes I've been to vegas several times over the last few decades, but the last time was over 20 years ago. It's not that great anymore. All the buffets and hotels used to be affordable, now they're expensive and they say business has really slowed down, but it's because people can't afford it now. When I went with family or by myself it was always mainly for the buffets, but we also looked around and played the slot machines and sometimes black jack. But it was mainly the buffets because a new hotel would open up and word would get around that they had a great buffet and it was cheap so we would plan on going.yea I heard about the residencies, not just for oldies, but maybe singers like Celine Dion, Britney Spears, etc who were popular in the 90s.
Have you ever been.
I can't imagine as only got one 'official' casino in my town/city. Plenty of pokie machines in the taverns/pubs tho, that I don't ever go to.
We have sports tho and international concerts..very expensive to see those now.
If you want to go to a fancy resort hotel, you better off going to Australia's Gold Coast, as well as for amusement parks.
Oh yes I heard about the legendary buffets, designed to keep you coming back for more...and losing your $$Yes I've been to vegas several times over the last few decades, but the last time was over 20 years ago. Chalk and cheese r not at all alike . So , if u know two people that r married and they r very different to each other , u might say that they r ; like chalk and cheese . Old english saying . It's used to refer to two things that r very very different .I'm so sorry, but I don't understand.
Is this some sort of saying?
What do you mean by being like chalk or cheese
