Hello everyone! I've been dealing with a bit of a struggle here lately and it concerns what I do for a living and I was hoping I could get some Christian advice. So I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in teaching in 2013, and I enjoy it but I drive over an hour just to get to work. I have tried so hard to find a closer job but education is very bad where I live so its hard to find one. I have decided to go back to school to get a second degree because I feel that I can talk more about Jesus in the new profession and be able to find a job easier, and although im 24, i still don't know what i want to do for a living. I know that probably sounds bad. I guess my question is, have you ever felt like you didn't know what you wanted to do for a living, or have you felt yourself doing many different occupations that you think you would really enjoy? How did you know you were making the right choice?
 
24 and not knowing what you want to do isn't uncommon at all. I was older than you before I began forming ideas about what I wanted to do. And my situation didn't allow me to do anything about it. Now some of those options are not even worth considering so I had to figure it out all over again.
 
I'm 24, got my bachelors May 2014, and didn't get a steady job til April of this year, and it's a job you don't even need college for. So it's safe to say that part of me felt that I spent all of that money for nothing.. But like Ugly said, it's not uncommon for us at our age to feel that way. I'm in the process of saving to go to grad school, since you can't do anything really in psychology with just a bachelor's. No matter what happens, continue seeking God in whatever you decide to do, whether it's going back to school or getting a new teaching job.

Yeah college is very expensive, and I just want to make sure I am not making the wrong decision since nursing doesnt really have anything to do with teaching, but I feel that I could talk more about Jesus and explore more options with it if that makes sense. I just could see myself doing many occupations and I wish there was just one that I really could see myself doing so I wouldn't be confused.

If helping others is what you're most passionate about, nursing is worth a shot. You can do a lot with it.

It really is, that's the one thing I love the most is helping. Sometimes you just need someone to give you a boost of confidence and say hey, you got this! So thank you for that!
 
Of course! I'll be praying God gives you the wisdom and direction you want to go in.
 
Good luck, Agape24! Lots of people spend lots of time mulling over their career choice; some people are just really dynamic about it and like to change things up frequently.

To answer your question: Yes, all the time (in regards to not knowing what I want to do).
