There comes a time in our lives when everything changes. It changes so suddenly you never see it coming. There's a knock on the door, a ring of a phone, the presence of a doctor standing in a hospital waiting room. It changes fast! So fast you are placed in a whirlwind. A whirlwind that won't stop sucking you in, spinning, spinning, until you are thrown out and into a wall. Dead stop, cold and hard, you hear words, comprehending what you know they surely must not be saying. They speak in monotone voices, some with a caring edge, others with just a matter of fact babble. They tell you it's over, its finished, no suffering any longer, but you're still trying to digest the possibility that what they are saying is not real. You hear the gasps, the cries of others that have surrounded you and you stop!!! This can't be real, its not possible, how did it happen so quickly? What do I do, who do I call, what do I say to the children I have left at home . Sleeping so secure in their little beds with their blankets pulled up snugly around them. They went to bed with their world right, whole. Little do they know as they dream of princesses, cowboys, pony's, and candy that they are about to have their own world ripped apart. Strewn up and thrown into a wind that will scatter the pieces, not caring where they land.
I cant breathe, I can't program my mind to get it together, process this, you've gotta be strong for the others.
So much happens. Things are thrown into your face to sign, check here., pick out these. Does this one have lining, does it really matter? This one protects 50 years. So? How does that even begin to matter to me right at this moment. Life has been changed forever. How can I go on, how will we manage, times are hard and now the leanness is even more apparent.
I go thru the motions, picking out caskets, flowers, program for the funeral. Reality is a blur , a piece of sanity I just can't seem to grasp right now! No time for that, you must get things ready.
Life changes. You are realizing that now. Things and people that you took for granted to always be here are gone. You are Alone.
You pray for understanding, you pray for comfort. It doesn't come. You don't understand how a God that supposed to show you unconditional love can let this happen, let the family suffer so. Peace, that's what you want. Just peace, any way you can find it.
Life changes. You know that now. Grim reality has set in now, cold and lonely in its presence. You muddle thru life, chores are being done, with little joy anymore, just robotic moves and foggy thoughts.
And then, God is there, He's really there! He puts his arm around you. He allows you to cry uncontrollably all the tears that you have kept bottled up for so long. So many tears! He cradles you, dries your tears and you begin to feel a healing, a kind of love never felt before. Its so peaceful now, you sleep, beautiful sleep. He let's you know He's always been there, you just didn't give Him the hurt, the anger, the pain. He promises to never leave you, and you know that you will be okay. The kids will be okay. Life will be okay. He picks you up, dusts the dirt off of you, and starts to heal those bruises, those scars that you thought would always be there.
Life changes. God is there, he directs you, leads you now. Protection is with you. You can rest, rest easy.

I wrote this a couple weeks ago. My husband passed away a year and 4 months ago. I think I was inspired to write this for everyone that had gone through something like this.

Beautiful ❤ Thank you sis Tracy ❤

God bless you ❤

I understand this. I had it happen when I got the phone call my first husband was dead and I had to go downtown. For years after I put lifes problems on Alexie, it's like this because he is dead. Then I was wisely told to stop, because life is on life's terms today and dead or not I have to live and deal with the here and the now. So I did. I did not realize at the time how I would need this again. After my divorce, second marriage, I recognized the same old 'if only" type in my head. But it did and this is the hear and now. So I sucked it up and faced life on life's terms. One of the greatest Scriptures in all of the Bible is a small one said by Y-shua... the rain falls on the just and the unjust... another words life happens on life's terms. Only a fool thinks times makes everything better. Only G-d makes everything better; He is our comforter, our everlasting help in a time a need, our healer, our strong tower we run into and are saved. Life does just happen but it sucks to have it happen without Him; the only One who can do anything about it!
