:confused:Hi, Im Joy and curious how you are liking this chat room? Its my first experience starting today and wondering if its worth my time. Dating sites seem to be useless and it seems to be extremely difficult to find a descent Christian man. Share your thoughts...

Thanks and Have a beautiful day!:o

This is a great place. I wouldn't come here with the mindset to find a Christian man though. This is more of a place to fellowship with other believers, learn, discuss, etc. So yea, if you are looking for a mate on here, you may be disappointed. Is it worth your time to use CC? Absolutely!

Yeah, if your goal here is to date, then you're in the wrong place. This is not a singles site, a dating site, and even the Singles Forums here are not intended to find a mate, but rather to be a support for singles. Though some relationships have formed here, its more random.
Hmm.. i just reread your post and see you said 'this chat room'. Going by that wording let me explain. We have Forums, which is what we're in now. Forums are slower response as its just a way of posting, then waiting for someone to respond.
The chat room on the other hand is a real time chat. But neither section is designed for seeking a mate.

thursday afternoon i had some free time and i think i survived about 10 minutes in a chat room on this site before i could not take it anymore (vacuous). i think that will be my last time in a chat room.

if you are seeking dating material (ie: hunting a spouse), seeking real life people locally where you live - or at least nearby! you need to see how they interact with other people - not you.

if i knew of a decent Christian guy, i would tell all of my single friends whom are female! most "christian" guys i meet are so challenged that i really want to smack them upside their heads. the state of manhood, in the circles i run in, are so overcome by the availability of porn that i would no more recommend them to a female i know, than any female anywhere, anytime! (and your first question to any guy these days should be, "so how are you coming on conquering your online porn addiction.....?")

yeah, i am hard on guys i know.....

It is great to hear a guy speak out against porn! It is an "addiction" and it is great that you recognize it in other guys around you and admit that what they are doing is wrong!! Plus you are willing to say you wouldn't help these same men find themselves christian women.

Many people here are married. Need to go to an exclusively singles site for what you are looking for.

Most Christian guys admit porn is wrong, so i'm not sure what makes it so special that Chip said it. Being addicted to porn does not mean you approve of it. Many Christian men who are addicted to porn want to be free from it, and acknowledge the wrongness of it.

I think the area of most denial is among women, not men. Many Christian women are 'romance' addicts. Whether its unrealistic expectations of knights in shining armor sweeping her off her little princess feet, living a lifetime of perpetual adoration of her loveliness. Or whether it gets into softcore porn. Many women feed themselves with exaggerated ideas of romance, leading to unhealthy expectations of real life men. Yet so few women will admit to thinking that way. And they feed these ideas through books, magazines, movies, etc.. it looks less harmful on the outside but is actually quite damaging.

I came here to find some like-minded Christians and maybe even learn something along the way. There are many things I do not know or understand about being a Christian. I also came to express my opinions and be a part of something.

Dating? Nope. Wasn't a consideration.

I typed this once and it didn't go through so let's see if my thoughts come through correctly. I would hope that Christian men recognize that porn is wrong. I would not know for a fact that it is true based on the fact I have never talked about porn with any Christian men I know. I was commending Chip for being willing to protect the women he knows but not introducing them to other men for the simple fact that he wouldn't want them being yoked with someone with an addiction.

I agree with you 100% about a lot of women being "romance addicts". It is so easy in this day and age where they romanticize relationships between men and women be it in movies or in books. I think it is common most especially in your teens and twenties. Once you have the life experiences to realize how true it isn't you can move forward realistically looking first for a man of God who puts God first and foremost in his life. I can say though that I am quite sure some women never move out of this phase of being a romantic and will lose out on finding that one man that God has intended for them if they would only open their eyes to see the person that has been molded through the tests and trials of life. It is love that lasts throughout a relationship when the money is hard to come by, the looks have faded away, and the kids have moved out.
