i have mixed feelings on this...
first...i recognize that at most school board meetings you have to submit your questions or statements in advance...and there is a time limit...overtly this is done to save time for other business...including other people's questions and statements...
however...i don't believe this is a good policy...and it does make it possible for the board to select only 'easy' questions and positive statements to be heard at the meeting...
with that said...policy is policy and an attendee not conforming to the meeting policy would be legitimately regarded as disrupting the meeting...and it would be legitimate for security to escort them out...
but...i also think that the man in the video could have been escorted out of the meeting -without- the added spectacle of someone flashing a badge and pulling out handcuffs...which can easily be construed as the officer throwing his weight around...
and yet...at this time we apparently have no proof of what happened when those two left the room and went out of camera range...for all we know the man could have assaulted the officer...which is what the police department is claiming...
on the other hand...in the video the police officer was behaving in a manner that i would call 'aggressive' and 'standoffish'...i also saw unnecessary physicality that is inconsistent with the officer merely trying to remove the man from the meeting by force...that physicality could easily be seen as a provocation or possibly even assault justifying self defense...
finally i will say that i have long had serious reservations about off duty police officers engaging in law enforcement activities...mainly because it blurs the lines between governmental law enforcement and vigilante actions by private citizens...
Agreed. If they are off duty and working as a security guard, where did the line between police officer and security guard change? Maryland apparently gives off duty police officers full authority even when they are off duty. That's a slippery slope.
And while this man may have assaulted the officer off camera, I find it doubtful. He made every attempt to back away from the officer while the officer advanced upon him, leading up to when the officer forcibly slammed him through the door.
This guy is facing a potential 10 year prison sentence and the only evidence of the event is of the police officer assaulting him, not him assaulting the officer (who by the way probably has at least 50 pounds of muscle over this guy). Why are they pursuing this at all. It's insane.
As for the pre selected questions, I have a feeling his were ignored, or he wouldn't have come prepared with a pen and paper and a speech ready.
The Democrat leftards hire bar bouncers to bounce out concerned parents from school board meetings and then they go to the bar and laugh about it. When it's a white man that's a bonus.
Do your children a favor. Do yourself a favor: homeschool or private school. The "system" is about played out. It's been completely taken over by Democrats who use it as an extortion racket to live off of. Public education in this country is in rapid decline and soon to be completely immoral.
Public education is there for one reason only - to raise more liberals.
The teacher's unions are comprised of mostly liberals, the curriculum which is shown the children is liberal. Anything not politically correct is removed from the curriculum. Anything politically expedient is added to the curriculum. I know someone going through school today. They have had sex education more than once. Why does the school need to devote more than a semester to basic human reproduction and discussing the consequences of poor sexual choices? That is time that should have been spent on math or science or writing skills, something that will teach the student to be productive. Instead it is spent on increasingly showing students how to be better lovers (seriously look at the curriculum in a lot of schools). Since when was that educationally relevant?
And higher education is no better. Tenured professors only get tenure if they fall in line lock step with the college, and the colleges are almost always liberal.
12 grades and not a single required class about the US constitution. Higher education and still not a single required class about it. How are people supposed to know, understand, and respect their rights if they are shown them being trampled upon constantly and never told the rights they have.
And God is dead too. Students cant have bible studies of their own on school property even though no school employees are involved. The pledge of allegience cannot be said because it contains the word God.
