It had been a while since rain drops had touched the ground of a small village in India. The little amount of water left in the lake wasn’t enough for both the people and the animals. There was dead, dried up crop as far as eye could see. Day by day, the situation was getting worse.
The little group of believers in that village decided to have a day of prayer for rain. By word of mouth the news spread out quickly in the village and finally the day was here. To strengthen the prayer, most of the adults had decided to fast that day. Everyone was welcomed in the church, kids and adults.
There was this one little, rather hopeful, boy who walked into the church with an old raggedy umbrella. He went to the area where his friends were sitting. As soon as he got there, his friends started making fun of him for bringing an umbrella. An elderly man came to quiet down the boys. He had a very surprising look on his face when he saw the little boy with his umbrella.
He asked the boy, why did you bring an umbrella? You know it hasn’t rained here in a very long time. The boy, with his timid voice said: I know, but I also know that it is going to rain today when we leave the church after our day of prayer. The elderly man just walked away.
After almost 10 hours of continuous prayers, all of a sudden they heard rain drops on the roof of church.
That little boy was my great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather.
