October 2018 Global Financial Stability Report October 2018:

A Decade after the Global Financial Crisis: Are We Safer?
https://www.imf.org/en/Publications...lobal-Financial-Stability-Report-October-2018

Managing Director Christine Lagarde warned that “large challenges loom
for the global economy to prevent a second Great Depression.”

One of the main subjects covered in the report is the massive global debt.
Remember the 2008 global financial crisis? Nations got out of that crisis by borrowing and
printing a ton of money. That got the world out of trouble temporarily. However, 10 years
on from that recession, we still haven’t paid off any of the money we borrowed in 2008.

In fact, the world is even deeper in debt than it was 10 years ago in the depths of the recession.
If another recession hits, how could we stop it from spiraling completely out of control?

Now, global debt is at 250 percent of the global economy. It would take
everything the world could produce for 2½ years to pay off all of those debts.

The imf report points out that debt is a critical issue at every level of the economy. It’s not
just federal government debt; it’s state government debt, local government debt, household
debt, business debt, pension debt and more. Just about every level of the global order has
borrowed itself into oblivion.

The International Monetary Fund (imf) published a dire warning about the state of
the global economy. IMF: Clouds over the global economy are 'darker by the day'

Oct. 18 A First: China, EU Launch New Combined Military Exercise
https://thediplomat.com/2018/10/a-first-china-eu-launch-new-combined-military-exercise/

The new development merits attention given its broader geopolitical significance.

"
For the first time, as announced on October 16, European Union military forces have
completed a combined exercise with the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN).

While European Union Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) interactions with the PLAN in the Gulf
of Aden are not entirely new, this exercise indicates an unprecedented level of coordination
between European and Chinese naval forces.

Set in the current geopolitical context, this new development merits attention for
activity not only in the Gulf of Aden, but also in the Mediterranean Sea.
"
The Gulf of Aden is a major shipping route and a vital waterway that links the Arabian Sea
and the Red Sea through the Bab el-Mandeb. Via the Red Sea and through the Suez Canal,
access to the Mediterranean Sea is facilitated. This makes the Gulf of Aden incredibly valuable.
Anything that disrupts access through the gulf will significantly impact global trade.

Knowing the strategic significance of this gulf, both the European Union and China have de-
ployed ships in the region since 2009 to protect against piracy. Other nations also patrol the
region, frequently working together under the banner of the multinational Combined Task Force
151. China, however, has had very limited coordination with the EU through the task force.
-

China’s Ministry of National Defense reported October 15. Most notably, it “promoted
exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese base and EU military forces in the region,
and improved the capability of regional joint humanitarian operation.”
http://eng.mod.gov.cn/news/2018-10/15/content_4826776.htm-
-

Rear Adm. Alfonso Perez De Nanclares, commander of the EU Naval Force, said, “This
excellent interaction leaves me and the operation commander in no doubt that with these
results we will be able to prepare further exercises which will consolidate the excellent
relationship that has been built up with our Chinese counterparts.”
http://eunavfor.eu/eu-navfor-conducts-first-exercise-with-chinese-plan-in-djibouti/

The proximity of this Djibouti base to a U.S. naval base has raised concern that the
Chinese may be using their “logistics facility” to spy on American forces.

Another key point to note is the proximity of these exercises and the Chinese Navy units
to the Mediterranean Sea. Chinese presence in the Mediterranean is becoming more and
more common as China’s global ambitions spread.
-

Mediterranean ports are vital to the Belt and Road Initiative. Earlier this year, it was estimated
that Chinese enterprises control 10 percent of European port capacity in the Mediterranean.
https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2018/03/china-now-controls-10-of-european-port-capacity.html

The result is increased presence of Chinese ships in the region.
The Diplomat concluded its article by highlighting the significance of these rising trends:

[T]he increasing Chinese presence in the Mediterranean makes it easier—if not inevitable
—to envisage necessary eventual coordination in more crowded Mediterranean waters.

As such, the significance of the combined medical evacuation exercise in the Gulf of Aden
should be seen as more than a gesture of good will. It is attestation of Beijing’s growing
comfort with sustaining a Far-Seas military presence and a way to test the waters for
more action in and around Europe’s neighborhood."

Oct. 22 China embarks on first joint naval drills with Asean
https://www.scmp.com/news/china/mil...t-joint-naval-drills-asean-us-tensions-simmer

China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (asean) took part in their
first ever joint maritime drill in Zhanjiang, China, from October 22 to 27.

The drills could reveal a potential shift in asean’s geopolitical alignment.
-

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
https://www.mckinsey.com/industries/public-sector/our-insights/asean-the-way-forward

ASEAN was formed in 1967, at the height of the Cold War, with five members:
Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, which were later
joined by Vietnam, Laos, Brunei, Cambodia and Myanmar.

One of its purposes was to give its members a strong unified voice against
coercive or expansionist activities in the region, like China.

In recent years, by building and militarizing islands in parts of the South China Sea
that are claimed by other nations, China has been exhibiting exactly the kind of
behavior that asean was designed to confront.

Four of the 10 asean nations have claims in the South China Sea that overlap those
of China, which claims almost the entire sea as its own. But with the asean nations
now engaging in military drills with China, questions are arising about whether the
group is now realigning itself with China, perhaps out of intimidation.
-

So far they say it is just simbolic, but China’s rise in the South China Sea,
and the assimilation of populous like asean nations into a gigantic bloc
known as the “kings of the east” is in the bible, for this time of the end.

Oct 9 Trial flight soon for new type of Chinese stealth bomber
http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/1122324.shtml

China’s Hong-20 nuclear stealth bomber is near to making its first flight,
military experts told the government-run Global Times

“The trial flight will come soon,” military analyst Song Zhongping was quoted
as saying. Song said the avionics systems and hydraulics of the revolutionary
Hong-20 bombers have apparently passed inspections, which will let the project
advance to the next phase of testing.

“The new generation of bombers can carry more bombs than previous H-6K bombers,”
Song said earlier this year, adding that the new models “have the advantage of stealth
features and are able to strike targets from standoff ranges.”

The Hong-20 (H-20) will boost China’s defensive and offensive capability and
give China a “stronger nuclear and conventional deterrence,” he said.
-

China released a video teaser believed to show the new aircraft beneath a sheet,
and revealing that it may be more comparable to the U.S. Air Force’s more
advanced B-21 Raider, which itself is still under development.
http://defenseimg.81.cn/data/static/2018/05/08/1168_9687.html
-

The War Zone wrote on October 10:
http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zon...progress-stirring-talk-of-a-first-flight-soon

By going straight from that aircraft [H-6 bomber] to the new stealth bomber, China will
skip multiple generations of bomber concepts that have come in the interim. Carrying
a full-load of CJ-10K air-launched cruise missiles, which can carry a conventional or
nuclear warhead, the aircraft could give China an entirely new long-range strategic
capability to deter potential opponents."
-

The bombers could “send shockwaves throughout the U.S. military and the American defense
industry, which would move to develop new systems and tactics, techniques and procedures to
counter the aircraft,” War Zone wrote. “The bombers could also be critical tools for defending
China’s territorial claims in the Pacific Region, especially in the South China Sea.”

In May, U.S. Navy Adm. Philip Davidson said China is already “capable of controlling
the South China Sea in all scenarios short of war with the United States.”

Would the war-weary U.S. be willing to go to war with China to prevent it
from asserting full control over this trade route? China’s tightening grip on
the South China Sea is steering the world toward war.

Oct. 17 New satellite images suggest military buildup in Russia's strategic Baltic enclave
https://edition.cnn.com/2018/10/17/europe/russia-kaliningrad-military-buildup-intl/index.html

"
New satellite imagery shared exclusively with CNN shows Russia appearing to upgrade four
of its military installations in Kaliningrad, Russia's strategic outpost on NATO's doorstep.

Kaliningrad -- Russian territory that's sandwiched between Poland and the Baltics but dis-
connected from the rest of Russia, known as an exclave -- has been a focal point in tensions
between Russia and the West.

Earlier this year, aerial images came to light that suggested the Russians had significantly
modernized a nuclear weapons storage bunker in Kaliningrad. Now, satellite imagery and
analysis from ImageSat International, a commercial satellite firm, appear to confirm that
a major modernization is underway in at least four locations throughout the region.
"

The images, captured between July 19 and October 1, show new upgrades to Kaliningrad’s
nuclear weapons site as well as a major expansion of the Primorsk Port. The imagery also
shows Russia building a new railway and 40 new bunkers and significantly upgrading the
Chkalovsk air base. Why is Russia stockpilling weaponry in Kaliningrad?

The images also reveal ongoing upgrades at the Chernyakhovsk base, headquarters of the
152nd Missile Brigade. In February, Chernyakhovsk received nuclear-capable Iskander
missiles, which have a range of 250 miles and can accommodate ground-penetrating bunker
busters, electromagnetic pulse weapons and nuclear warheads.
-

A United States defense official called the Iskander deployment “the biggest move we’ve
seen” in Russia’s militarization in Kaliningrad. Now the site is undergoing significant upgrades.

This is a major buildup of Russian military installations—and it’s happening right inside the
heart of Europe. And the main significance of this development by Vladimir Putin’s Russia
is the effect it will have on Europe. Many of Putin’s efforts to divide Europe are “backfiring”
and actually acting as a unifying force for Europe.

cnn said the new imagery is only the latest development that is exacerbating hostilities between
Moscow and Europe: “Tensions between Russia and the West have been at highs not seen since
the Cold War, amid the poisonings in England, allegations of Russian election meddling, and
Western sanctions on Moscow.”

China and Russia both say ‘We Are Preparing for War’

Oct. 26 The pla’s commander in chief Chinese President Xi Jinping, told an
assembly of generals to “concentrate preparations for fighting a war.”
http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2018-10/26/c_137561097.htm

He stressed the need to focus on combat research and commanding, to advance work
in all areas and accelerate developing strong and efficient joint-operation commanding
institutions for theater commands to comprehensively boost the military's battle-winning ability.

He instructed the military to “accelerate capacity-building for commanding and improve their
commanding and operation systems to ensure smooth and efficient command,” according to
the government-controlled Xinhua news agency.

Xi said the Southern Theater Command bears a “heavy military responsibility” since it is in
charge of operations in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait—two flashpoints for conflict.

“We need to take all complex situations into consideration and make emergency plans
accordingly,” he said. “We have to step up combat readiness exercises, joint exercises
and confrontational exercises to enhance servicemen’s capabilities and preparation for war.”
-

Xi’s statements come during a time of rising tensions over the South China Sea as the U.S.,
the United Kingdom, France and Australia are increasing freedom of navigation operations
and related activities in the disputed region that China claims. His remarks come only weeks
after a Chinese warship almost rammed an American destroyer as the U.S. ship conducted
a freedom of navigation operation in the region.

Oct. 27 The day after Xi’s statements, Russia’s senior arms control official,
Andrei Belousov, said, “Russia is preparing for a war.”
https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-fail...ear-treaty-inf-spurned-by-trump/29566690.html

Belousov claimed that at a recent meeting, U.S. officials declared that Russia was preparing
for war. "Yes, Russia is preparing for a war. I confirm it," the Russian envoy said. "Yes, we
are preparing to defend our homeland, our territorial integrity, our principles, our people."

"The Russian Federation is preparing for war, and the United States of America
is preparing for a war... That is the fact," Belousov said.
-

Belousov’s remarks came after the U.S. announced that it would withdraw from the Intermediate
-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. Before President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail
Gorbachev signed the treaty in 1987, such weapons as the Soviet SS-20 and the American
Pershing ii cast menacing shadows over Europe.
https://www.state.gov/t/avc/trty/102360.htm

These systems were mobile, highly accurate and capable of being hidden and quickly redeployed.
Some had the ability to fly nap-of-the-earth, staying below enemy radar coverage, and to fire
numerous independently targetable nuclear warheads—all within just a few minutes.

Reagan and Gorbachev agreed to dismantle existing systems and prohibit future development.
But in 2008, Russian President Vladimir Putin began testing new missiles that are banned by
the treaty. In the years since, Russia’s treaty violations have continued, culminating in the de-
ployment last year of the 9M729.

In response to Russia’s flagrant violations, the U.S. is now moving to withdraw from the treaty.
Belousov said, “Here recently at the meeting, the United States said that Russia is preparing
for war. Yes, Russia is preparing for war. I have confirmed it.”

He continued: “We are preparing to defend our homeland, our territorial integrity,
our principles, our values, our people—we are preparing for such a war.”

Belousov claimed that Russia’s preparations are only a response to provocations from the U.S.:
“Russia is preparing for war, and the U.S. is preparing a war. Otherwise, why would the U.S.
withdraw from the treaty, build up its nuclear potential, and adopt a new nuclear doctrine?”
-

It is worrying to see authorities in both China and Russia publicly acknowledging the
increasingly militaristic posturing of their nations and the rising possibility of war.

The increasingly militaristic posturing of Russia and China is leading to the most violent
war in mankind’s history. But the Bible also prophesies that at the end of all of these wars,
the world is going to see the greatest event ever in the universe:

the Second Coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ!

OCT 27 These US-CHINA Military Tussles are how next World War begins
https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/opin...EttGMpqMmajtZLnmAbFUNhboF5CeYPzftrsXTqyNgv9GE

If the final stage of geopolitical rivalry is military confrontation,
the starting pistol may already have been fired

"There are increasing signs that escalating tensions in the US-China
relationship are spilling over to military-to-military ties.

As US-China relations deteriorate rapidly on a number of critical fronts including trade,
technology, human rights and geopolitics, a series of events has inflamed military-to-
military ties and increased the risk of direct military conflict between the powers.

This year alone, we have seen China disinvited from the 2018 Rim of the Pacific Exercise
(Rimpac); the announcement of the sale of US$330 million worth of military equipment to
Taiwan; repeated patrols by US bombers and warships through the disputed South China
Sea and Taiwan Strait; a near-collision between two warships in the South China Sea;
and the Trump administration’s decision to sanction the Chinese military for buying
Russian fighter planes and missiles....."

"There will be the protracted risk of military conflict in the future, in the process of the shift
in US-China military relations from cooperative conflict avoidance towards adversarial con-
frontation. In the knowledge that military confrontation is the final stage of geopolitical rivalry,
the Cuban missile crisis of 1962 should serve as a reminder of how dangerous it is when nuclear
powers engage in high-stakes confrontation, which, in the event of miscalculation, could lead to
a war that would not only bring catastrophe to each side, but also potentially destroy the world. ¦

Putin hails development of Russia-China relations

“We can be pleased with the way our relations [with China] develop,” Russian President Vladimir

Russian government plans to increase trade with China to $200bln by 2024
http://tass.com/economy/1023271
-

One area where this growth is taking place is in energy trade. When Russia annexed Crimea in
2014, it was punished with heavy sanctions by the West. As a result of these sanctions, Russia
looked to China for economic help. The results of this “pivot to the east” are two of the largest
transactions in human history.

With China switching from coal to gas as an energy source and an ongoing trade war against the
U.S., a second pipeline could be built across Russia and China. Nur Bekri, director of the National
Energy Administration of China, said that an agreement on the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline (also
known as the Western Route) could be signed in the middle of 2019.

“If we can agree on the ‘Western Route,’ then it will be more than 80 billion cubic meters,” Bekri
told tass. If Russia and China conclude this deal, Russia will become China’s largest gas supplier.

Presedent Trump Plans to Tear Up a 31-Year-Old Nuclear Weapons Treaty. Now What?http://time.com/5430388/donald-trump-nuclear-weapons-treaty-inf-withdrawal/

What the INF Treaty means for the U.S. and Europe — and...
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...u-s-and-europe-and-why-trump-mentioned-china/

Bible passages found in Daniel 2 and 7 and Revelation 13 and 17 describe a European
power made up of 10 nations or groups of nations that will appear in this end time.

“ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings
one hour with the beast.” This union of 10 kings is clearly a military union.

The Bible says these kings shall “make war” (ver 14).

Nov 6 French President Emmanuel Macron called for a “real European army”

The Times called it “his strongest language yet on the need for an independent
defense force.” Typically European leaders have called for things like a
“European defense initiative” rather than an army. “We will not protect
the Europeans unless we decide to have a true European army,”

He also said, “We have to protect ourselves with respect to China, Russia
and even [ the United States of America ] .”

Nov 8 Emmanuel Macron unveils European defence coalition

Ten countries sign up following French president’s call for a ‘real European army’

A coalition of ten European militaries ready to defend the continent’s borders has been
unveiled in Paris, just days after Emmanuel Macron called for a “real European army”.

Finland has joined Germany, Belgium, Britain, Denmark, Estonia, the Netherlands, Spain
and Portugal in the French-led initiative, which will see members collaborate on planning,
on the analysis of new military and humanitarian crises, and on eventual military responses
to those crises......

-

Macron’s push to bring together a core 10-nation coalition of the willing “was born out of
French impatience with the EU’s efforts at defence co-operation”, known as Permanent
Structured Co-operation (Pesco) says The Economist.
https://www.economist.com/europe/2018/06/28/emmanuel-macron-leads-a-new-effort-on-european-defence

The magazine says “Germany has been keen on this mechanism, which keeps efforts at joint
European defence within existing EU structures. Its critics, though, regard Pesco as a low-am-
bition pact that ropes in too many countries [25 in total], including those with little interest in
sending troops abroad, to be operationally useful.”

Coming just days after Macron called for a “real European army” to reduce dependence
on the United States, and with the vocal support of senior figures in Brussels, the coalition
agreement will once again raising the spectre of a European Army.

Debating whether the UK should continue to defend its Western European allies, as it did
throughout the 20th century, or take a more detached position, RT Howard in the Daily
Telegraph argues “there is one compelling reason why our strategic ties with Western
Europe now deserve to be closer than ever before”.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/great-war-debate-should-uk-defend-europe/#atom-debate-no

“The reason is not that Western Europe is today confronted by threats any greater
than before” Howard writes, but rather “because of the increasingly fragile, fractious
state of the European Union.”

Nov. 10 US President Donald Trump has criticised French President Emmanuel Macron's
recent statement calling for a ‘true European army’ to defend Europe against international

Nov. 12 France is ready for a European empire, according to French Finance Minister
Bruno Le Maire. “The ball is now in Berlin’s court,” he said in his interview with
Germany’s Handelsblatt newspaper.
https://global.handelsblatt.com/politics/french-finance-minister-need-european-empire-980351

The European Union should become “a peaceful empire” in order to stand up to China and the US,
Le Maire argued. And although thanks to their wartime history, some Germans may find his talk
of empire unattractive, Le Maire explains that, “I am using this phrase because, in tomorrow’s
world, it’s going to be all about power … technological power, economic, financial, monetary,
cultural power – all will be decisive. Europe cannot be shy any longer about using its power.”

Le Maire won’t go as far as to say that German politicians have been two-faced about European
unity. But he did set a small deadline: “We have talked about it for a long time. Now it’s time for
decisions. And there will be decisions made on December 4, at the next meeting of the economy
and finance ministers. I cannot imagine anything else.”

“Everybody knows it takes guts to stand in the way of Donald Trump’s administration,” Le Maire
said. “The people of Europe have had enough of the babble from Brussels. They want to see action.”

November 13 Germany's Merkel calls for a European Union military
https://www.yahoo.com/news/germanys-merkel-calls-european-union-military-151032274.html

German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Tuesday for an integrated European Union military
-

Friedrich Merz is currently leading the race to succeed Angela Merkel as head of the Christian
Democratic Union in Germany. On October 25, before Merkel announced that she would step
down as leader of her party in December, Merz signed a letter alongside five other “leading
German thinkers” that strongly supports an EU army.

Europeans, he said, “no longer need national armies.”
This man could soon become chancellor of Germany.

Leaders in Europe’s most important nations are openly pushing for a real European army.
-
Germany is also talking about arming Europe with nuclear weapons.

Germany doesn’t want to have to rely on America any more for nuclear protection.
https://www.aicgs.org/2018/08/should-germany-go-nuclear/

A political union of Europe would produce a third major world power, as strong as either the U.S.
or the ussr—possibly stronger! Europe has huge, untapped military potential. A united military
could quickly transform it into this prophesied military combine.

German Council on Foreign Relations magazine is the latest in a series of articles advocating
for Germany to change Europe’s reliance on American nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, Bruno
Tertrais, deputy director of the Paris Foundation for Strategic Research, discussed the same
subject in the International Politics journal. He writes that France could “station part of its
arsenal (for example, 10 missiles) in Germany or Poland.”

Calling for a European army is easy—actually putting it together is hard.
But Europe has made important steps in this direction already.

Most of the Dutch Army is now under German command, serving in the German Army.
Significant parts of the Czech and Romanian armies are in the same position.

The EU has several projects designed to serve as the basis for a real European army.
EU leaders met in France as part of the European Intervention Initiative, which is
designed to help these different nations work together and deploy quickly.

While Americans Pretend To Be Oppressed, The Chinese Run Concentration Camps
http://thefederalist.com/2018/11/07/americans-pretend-oppressed-chinese-run-concentration-camps/

Nov. 7 Progressives who think America is an oppressive regime need only look
to China to see what real oppression looks like and how lucky they really are.

It is comIt is commonplace in America today to hear that our president is a dangerous
authoritarian, that our government is veering towards fascism, and that we are losing
our place as a champion for freedom around the world. For many the desire to feign
that they are seriously oppressed is powerful and deep. But a glance around the globe
shows how misguided this belief is, and how it minimizes truly serious oppression.

Deeply troubling reports from the BBC show that China is rounding up and imprisoning
up to 1 million Muslim Uighur people in the Xinjiang province.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-sh/China_hidden_camps

These are people who have committed no crime but are nonetheless locked up, and
according to some reports beaten and tortured. China’s defense for these actions is
that these people are merely being reeducated…

There is likely very little that the U.S. government can do to stop these camps and the
internment of these innocent people in China. But at the very least, our elected officials
and media could spend more time focused on it and talking about it. A million people
being rounded up and thrown in camps because of their religion used to be something
that got Americans’ attention. Today, not so much.

It is worth considering that part of the reason for this silence from and in the United States
is that many Americans see our own current government as so flawed and oppressive that
we have no moral high ground from which to criticize China. This is a dangerous development.

Much of the influence that America has used to make the world more democratic historically
stemmed from our deep belief that our system of government, our freedom and liberty, are
worthy of replication around the globe.

But do Americans still believe in our system? That isn’t clear. Consider, for example, a recent
viral article in Marie Claire titled, “Why Trump’s America Makes Me Regret Adopting My
Daughters.” The author is worried that she made a “tragic mistake” adopting her girls from China.

This section particularly stood out: “I pulled those two beautiful babies away from a rising power
and into a damaged democracy. I brought two girls of color into a society where it’s clear that their
word and their bodies are worth less than a man’s—and where open, overt racism has become even
more likely now than it was a decade ago.

And unfortunately, my worries aren’t exactly tinfoil-hat-wearing paranoia.”

Nov. 7 Germans increasingly prejudiced against foreigners, Muslims
https://www.dw.com/en/germans-increasingly-prejudiced-against-foreigners-muslims/a-46180880

“Xenophobia is on the rise in Germany, in particular in its eastern states, according to a new study.
What’s more,an increased affinity for authoritarianism in the country could pose a threat to democracy.

More than one out of three Germans believes foreigners only come to the country to exploit the
welfare state, a study on authoritarian attitudes in Germany says. Almost one out of two people
in eastern Germany believes this to be true, and almost as many people are convinced Germany
is already “dangerously watered down” by foreigners — 35.6 percent of those interviewed overall
held that conviction (44.6 percent among eastern Germans).

“More than 30 percent of the people living in eastern Germany unanimously agree with xenophobic
views,” said Oliver Decker, the head of the study at the Leipzig-based Competence Center for Right
-Wing Extremism and Democracy Research. That is a really high percentage, he told DW.

Roughly 22 percent of western Germans agreed with those views. Since 2002, the institute has
published a biennial study on authoritarian and right-wing extremist views in Germany.

The latest study found that prejudice against migrants has increased in general, in particular against
Muslims, Sinti and Roma. The latter groups face significant aggression, Decker said. Almost 60 percent
of the people who participated in the study agreed with the assumption that Sinti and Roma are prone
to crime — almost 5 percent more than in the 2014 study.

Misgivings about Muslims have also increased. According to the study, more than 44 percent of those
surveyed believe Muslims should be banned from immigrating to Germany, compared to 36.5 percent
four years ago. More than one out of two (55.8 percent) said that the number of Muslims in Germany
made them feel like strangers in their own country sometimes, compared to 43 percent in 2014.......”

“Wary of Jews

Anti-Semitism, too, has increasingly made headlines throughout Germany in the wake of several high
-profile incidents in Berlin and elsewhere. One out of 10 people questioned felt Jews still have "too
much of an influence even today" and almost as many said there is something special and peculiar
about Jews and thus they "do not really fit in with us," according to the study. Its authors suspect that
even more Germans harbor anti-Semitic feelings but won't admit to them in public because doing so is
not socially accepted..............”

“Political platform for far-right extremists

Almost 8 percent of the participants in the study said a dictatorship might be the better form of govern-
ment under certain circumstances, while 11 percent said they wanted a leader who "governs the country
with a firm hand for the good of all."

Voters of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in particular harbor xenophobic
(55 percent) and anti-democratic (13.2 percent) views.......”

Nov. 7 Kristallnacht: fears grow in France over anti-Semitic violence
https://www.euronews.com/2018/11/07/kristallnacht-fears-grow-in-france-over-anti-semetic-violence

France has the largest Jewish community in Europe - around 550,000 people.
Increasingly, however, many say they no longer feel safe in their country.
The Pinto family chose to move away from Seine-Saint-Denis, a Paris suburb.

Last year, three men locked them up for several hours in their home.
They were “targeted” because of their religion.

“They told us, you are Jews, so you have money,'’ says Roger Pinto. “They tied
up my son, and they kicked my wife in the ribs. I was knocked out,'’ he says.

While the suspects are in jail, the trauma remains.

Pinto adds, “They tied up the three of us in our room, they sat us on the bed and told
us not to move. “If you move, we’ll kill you”, they said. When they saw that they did
not impress us, they took out a very big screwdriver. And that’s where it got serious,
because they put the screwdriver like that (under his throat).”

Both synagogues and Jewish schools are heavily protected because of fears of terrorism.

no enemy will need to bomb us
One way is by China’s ongoing Drug War—Against America, The shocking story
of China’s strategy to use America’s drug addiction as a weapon against itself

"In 2017, almost 30,000 people overdosed on fentanyl and fentanyl analogs.

Since fentanyl is up to 50 times more powerful than heroin, it is only legally available to
cancer patients with a doctor’s prescription. But huge numbers of Americans are obtaining
illicit fentanyl, most of which arrives from chemical laboratories in China directly through
the mail or indirectly through Mexico.

According to a United States Senate report released in January, Americans illegally purchased
nearly $800 million worth of fentanyl pills directly from Chinese chemical labs over a two-year
period. American customers used digital currencies like bitcoin to remain anonymous, and
Chinese sellers mailed them fentanyl through the U.S. Postal Service.

Chinese labs have also partnered with Mexican cartels to smuggle fentanyl into America.
Mexico’s national security commissioner told the newspaper Reforma that most fentanyl
entering Mexico from China comes through the Port of Manzanillo. Once the fentanyl is
unloaded at the docks, it is smuggled into the U.S. by either the long-established Sinaloa
drug cartel or the up-and-coming Jalisco New Generation cartel...."

"By turning a blind eye, at the very least, to Chinese fentanyl traffickers, the Chinese govern-
ment enjoys the benefit of waging drug warfare against the Americans and weakening them.

A Chinese military attack using actual chemical weapons would risk an overwhelming military
response, but using the chemical weapon of illicit drugs is a subtle siege that tears at the fragile
fabric of American society by attacking not its strategic vulnerabilities but its moral ones."

America’s self-inflicted and China-facilitated fentanyl epidemic is ripping apart families, multiplying
crime, crippling the economy, and destroying the minds of the next generation of Americans.
The Chinese Com. Party and Mexican cartels are facilitating and profiting from this American
self-destruction, but the blame ultimately lies with the depravities of the American people.

Drug pushers may be putting this chemical weapon into the hands of the Americans, but it is the
Americans who are using it on themselves and demanding more and more “things they like to taste.”

American users are demanding these drugs, and Chinese criminals are supplying them.
Though the Chinese government is not sending them over itself, neither is it clamping
down on the supply. Chinese leaders can plausibly deny that they have anything to do
with weakening America through illicit drugs.

But if you examine recent history, you will find startling examples of the Chinese Communist
Party actively pushing illicit drugs into the hands of its enemies, handing them chemical weapons
to use on themselves. Chinese leaders know the devastating effect narcotics can have.

October 4 Netherlands says Russia tried cyberattack on global chemical weapons agency
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/russia...opcw-chemical-weapons-netherlands-2018-10-04/

"
The Dutch government said Thursday that it blocked a cyberattack by Russian intelligence
agents in April targeting the global chemical weapons watchdog agency. The head of the
Netherland's military intelligence agency identified four Russians behind the alleged operation,
which targeted the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) headquarters
in The Hague.

Dutch officials showed images of a rental vehicle they said was discovered at the time with
computer equipment and transformers used in the alleged plot. He said the Russians were
expelled from the Netherlands immediately after the plot was foiled on April 13.

Later Thursday, the U.S. Department of Justice announced charges against seven Russian
agents for cyber crimes linked to the Dutch investigation. The indictment accused the seven
members of Russia's military intelligence agency, the GRU, of hacking into the world anti-
doping agency, the OPCW, and of cyberattacks aimed at a U.S. nuclear energy facility.

"The conspiracy conducted persistent and sophisticated computer intrusions affecting U.S.
persons, corporate entities, international organizations, and their respective employees
located around the world, based on their strategic interest to the Russian government,"
the Department of Justice said in a statement.

The revelation of the plot in the Netherlands came just hours after Britain's Defense Minister
Gavin Williamson, at a NATO summit with U.S. Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and other
allies, called Russia's cyberattacks of recent years the "actions of a pariah state," and vowed
that NATO would "be exposing" Moscow's nefarious acts.

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg warned Russia, not long after the announcement by the Nether-
lands, to halt its "reckless" behavior. "Russia must stop its reckless pattern of behaviour, in-
cluding the use of force against its neighbours, attempted interference in election processes,
and widespread disinformation campaigns," he said in Brussels..."

"
Basically the Russians got caught with their equipment, people who were doing it, and they have
got to pay the piper, they are going to have be held to account," Mattis said later Thursday at
the NATO summit. "How we respond to something like this is a political decision by the nations
involved, and we will be standing by them. But it does not necessarily equate to some kind
of tit for tat on cyber. We have a wide variety among our nations of responses available to us...."

Oct. 4 Justice Dept. announces charges against 7 Russian operatives for cyberattacks
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/justic...ainst-7-russian-operatives-for-cyber-attacks/

"
Seven Russian military intelligence officers were charged with hacking anti-doping agencies
and other organizations, the Justice Department announced at a press conference Thursday.

According to a Justice Department press release, a grand jury in Pennsylvania sent the indict-
ment, which says that beginning around December 2014 and up through May 2018, the operatives
conducted sophisticated computer hacking operations that affected people in the U.S., corporations,
international organizations and their employees around the world, "based on their strategic interest
to the Russian gov.

According to Eric Welling, Deputy Assistant Director for the FBI's Cyber Division, these GRU
hackers operated under the name "Fancy Bear Hacking Team," the same group of Russian
government-backed hackers that was the focus of special counsel Robert Muller's indictment
of GRU hackers early this summer.

Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division, John Demers, said that these hackers
were caught "red-handed" in a "conspiracy to hack a variety of individuals and organizations in the
United States, Canada and Europe" with the goal of distorting the public's perception of truth.

International anti-doping organizations and officials were targeted by the Russian operatives after
they exposed and condemned Russia's athletic doping program. According to Justice Department
officials, the operatives tried to publicize information they had stolen in order to undermine and
delegitimize the anti-doping organizations.........."

"
Prosecutors say the Russians also targeted a Pennsylvania-based nuclear energy company -- the
Westing-house Electric Company, which is near Pittsburgh -- and an international organization that
was investigating chemical weapons in Syria and the poisoning of a former GRU officer. The indict-
ment was announced on the same day that the Dutch government said it had blocked a cyberattack
by Russian intelligence agents in April targeting the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical
Weapons (OPCW) headquarters in The Hague.

The indictment says the hacking was often conducted remotely. If that wasn't successful, the hackers
would conduct "on-site" or "close access" hacking operations with trained GRU members traveling
with sophisticated equipment to target their victims through Wi-Fi networks....

China-Japan ties at ‘historic turning point’ after Shinzo Abe’s visit, but can the goodwill hold?https://www.scmp.com/news/china/dip...istoric-turning-point-after-shinzo-abes-visit

Japanese prime minister’s trip aimed to reset relations amid a history
of bitter grievances, disputes and rivalry- Sides agreed to set aside
political differences, boost economic ties and promote free trade.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s latest China visit marked a major effort to reset the
tumultuous relations between the two Asian giants amid a backdrop of historical grievances,
territorial disputes in the East China Sea and geopolitical rivalry in the wake of Beijing’s
rapid ascendancy in the region.

In the first official visit by a Japanese leader since 2011, Abe, who wrapped up his three-day
trip to Beijing on Saturday, appeared to have achieved his goal of putting ties back on track
after a seven-year nadir.

Climaxing Beijing and Tokyo’s efforts over the past year to repair their troubled ties, both
sides agreed to set aside their political differences and vowed to boost economic ties and
promote free trade amid growing global uncertainty and protectionism.

Amid trade tensions with Washington, the two sides signed over 500 business deals with a
total value of more than US$2.6 billion, ranging from infrastructure, energy and car projects
to a US$30 billion currency swap pact.

They also agreed not to aim threats or direct aggression at each other and resolved to increase
high-level diplomatic and military exchanges through constructive dialogue amid speculation
about a planned visit to Japan next year by President Xi Jinping........"

"
The visit came in the midst of rapid changes in the global order as a shift in power dynamics
– years in the making – plays out among a rising China and the existing giants in world affairs,
including the US and Japan, which China overtook as the world’s second-largest economy in 2010.

More importantly, the trip coincided with the spiralling tariff war between Beijing and Washington,
and a looming clash over national interests that went far beyond trade frictions under US President
Donald Trump’s “America first” strategy........

Oct. 16 Japan-India Maritime Exercise 2018: Operational Clarity, Strategic Confusion?
https://thediplomat.com/2018/10/jap...2018-operational-clarity-strategic-confusion/
-

A key point of discussion for Abe and Modi at this meeting was defense cooperation,
following the October 7–15 Japan-India Maritime Exercise.

The two leaders agreed to foster closer naval cooperation and begin formal negotiations
on the Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement, which authorizes Japanese and Indian
forces to obtain logistical support from each other’s naval and military bases. These bases
include Japan’s base in Djibouti and India’s island bases in the Indian Ocean.

At the end of the summit, Abe said, “Relations between Japan and India have the biggest potential
in the world …. A strong Japan benefits India, and a strong India benefits Japan.” Modi said, “I
believe until and unless India and Japan have strong relations, Asia can never develop.”
-

There is still a long way to go before all three nations—China, Japan and India
—enter a full alliance, but this is exactly what Bible prophecy says will happen.
