Friday 10-28-22 6th. Day Of The Weekly Cycle, Cheshvan 1, 5783 37th. Fall Day

Luke Seventeen:20-27

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.

26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

if you look closely Jesus is answering two questions he speaks of the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem but also is answering when the end of the world will come. This confuses many many people

“And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? ( the destruction of the temple and city he just foretold )

and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:1-3‬ ‭

The following sections in the gospels including the contemporary verses are answering two seperate inquiries one “ when is Jerusalem going to be destroyed ?” And two “ what is the sign of your second coming and the end of the world ?”

the “ great tribulation “ is about jerusalems destruction and is the beginning of tribulations for the world.

people are mixing up what happened to Jerusalem in 67-70 ad and what Jesus had foretold and then mixing it with the end of the world and Christs return that day

jerusalems destruction was foretold repeatedly on the prophets and also latter end to the world as we know it was foretold

the end of the world is. Ot going to be obvious the world is so twisted against God no one realizes our state is opposed to him

the end of the world and Jesus return is a different subject from the destruction and desolation of Jerusalem which happened in 70 ad when Rome left no stone on another and besieged and destroyed Jerusalem and exiled Christian’s and Jews into all nations

my point is if we realize he’s answering two questions there it begins to separate the two answers and we see jerusalems tribulation would begin worldly tribulation that will last until the end that sudden day when all seems
Normal in a wicked world and the. Suddenly Jesus

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. ……They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:3, 9-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.”
‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:7-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:14-18‬ ‭

for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. …But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:2-5, 8-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?

You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:3-4, 9-13‬ ‭NIV‬‬
