They sent me a vague email stating that under the first amendment of the constitution that they will no longer be my distributor under “editorial discretion”. They didn’t go into detail.

I have tried emailing them and talking to them about it to see why I was being banned but they haven’t responded to any of my emails.

A word of advice, just like how YouTube can ban people for not following their rules and policies, I recommend reading the rules and policies of ditrokid, if that is who you absolutely want to go with AND read and follow their rules and policies of every single music streaming service that distrokid distributes your music to.

Or one should consider having their own website to post their good stuff on.

Then use all the social media sites to post whatever and just use them for a lead in to your own website where the good stuff is.

Youtube and other social media platforms are monetized as revenue streams for their platforms so many times decisions are based on making them more money

Sounds like for some reason they just didn't want to host you anymore and I'd bet somehow it's related to money in on way or another.

That's the downside of riding on someone else's platform is that they have the right to stop hosting people anytime they want.

We’ll see where God leads me.

Lately, I’ve just been posting on my personal YouTube channel for now, and I still collect royalties from Distrokid but very minuscule.

Ever since I was banned, I’ve been having a lot more listeners listening to my Distrokid distributed artist accounts on almost all music streaming platforms but still, very minuscule.

All of my music is on this website (https://www.thenarrowgaterecordlabel.com)

I was using social media accounts but I found, with analytics, that most people stumbled onto my music by playlists or search on the actual music streaming services, not through social media.

Other than music streaming services, the websites that would view my music, is here on CC or Facebook, everywhere else was a ghost town.

These are things I’ve learned that boosted my music listener volume.

Creating playlists is a game changer.

I’m still learning though and won’t give up, God willing.

Having links to your website on social media platforms does help your rankings in the search engines.

It's always best to allow the search engines to find your website organically (on their own) rather than paying for click thru Google Adsense or other paid programs.

If you pay for clicks and quit paying them at some point they typically remove your website from their database which hurts you site in the engines.

Yep, gotta keep swinging and the Lord will teach you new stuff in consistency

God's Kingdom works on the seedtime harvest principle (Mark 4:26 - see Genesis 1:11 also) so being constant and consistent is critical so the seed stays in the ground where it can continue to grow

I used to do webdesign and online marketing and had need to get my websites found by the search engines.

All I did was find discussion forums where are the nerds were hanging out and rode on their coat tails so to speak.

I learn a lot this way about computers as well and have done all my own computer work.

Now I'm looking in to switching from Windows over to using Linux so that should be a fun little adventure.

Wow! I used to have an Ubuntu operating system on an Alienware laptop that my friend gave me. You basically have to know how to run different code in order to download anything with that operating system. I took a Java programming class in college with that computer, was probably my top three favorite classes, just because of how you have to use your brain.

I hear marketing is like the number one job that makes or breaks a business.

It’s been a while since I’ve down web design but I just used Wordpress to create my websites, not a whole lot of code necessary.

I went to school for computer science and engineering but dropped out.
 
Yep, one thing about playing with computers is there's much to learn and it keeps a brutha busy!

Linux is supposed to be much more secure than Windows and there's no annual fee like the newer versions of Windows and I'm on a discussion forum learning about Linux a little and they claim it's not that hard to make the switch from Windows to Linux

I have a couple of older Lenovo laptops (the units from the mid teens were pretty much bullet proof so I have extras!) that I need to load with Linux so I can start tinkering with it.

It should be a lot of fun so I'll be on that before long.

An annual fee? Wow! They would.

Lenovo’s were my favorite pc laptops back in the day because of that little eraser head mouse in the center of the keyboard.

You are getting me excited about it.

I sold out and ended up getting all Apple products. I would like to get a Linux laptop again, and even windows, just to have them, in case I needed to use a specific app only designed for them.
 
That's what some of the guys on the Linux forum do, they use Linux as their primary system but have at least one laptop with Windows for the fee things that work better on Windows.

Apple is built upon Linux OS but they have some much proprietary stuff built in it may be hard to tell anymore.

Makes sense. I’m a little bummed that Windows switched to a subscription model though.

I can’t tell with Apple. They made their operating system so user friendly. Everything on Apple is in the Apple “ecosphere”, so almost everything that is on your MacBook Pro, is on your iPhone and iPad. So it’s like all three devices are all different but they all run a similar operating system and you can just drag and drop everything in the iCloud and it can go from one device to another. Everything is connected, which I find to be a time saver when working on projects and what not.

Same with Android/Google devices. I believe even our text messages and possibly even so called private messaging services like WhatsApp aren’t exactly private.

I think every single person in the world may get “byte’n in their hinder quarters” haha who knows!

So what are some good AI programs to user to create music?

I'm an amateur vocalist (had opportunities to get in to the music business but wasn't interested in becoming a circus monkee that others make money off of) and might be interested in creating some songs.

I'm seeing some decent stuff actually on Youtube that they are saying is created by AL but I'd want to use my own lyrics and have some control over how the music sounds and of course I'd want it to be guitar driven music (I'm like an old hair metal guy)

I can see that there could be some use for some good high energy Christian rock and melodic metal, even some southern rock using biblical lyrics. Just curious if you knew of any AI programs or services that allow the creator of the music to actually control what is created.
