just caught wind of a movie coming out. a Christian film named "God's Not Dead;" it's about a college student making a case for God's existence against the beliefs of his philosophy teacher. the trailer is, unsurprisingly, getting downvoted fanatically on YouTube. tons of people trashing it on the movie's Facebook page. all i'm asking for is for you guys to pray for the production crew of this movie. pray that they keep their spirits strong, and their shield raised.
 
I watched the preview, and actually loved it!!! I cannot understand the debates in the comments saying that Christians are portraying atheists to be insensitive and rude... Yet when you read the comments they show that they are supported by the movies thesis... And in my opinion just because a movie depicts a group does not mean the whole group is the same...

Wow. It actually looks quite good. Certainly better than saccharine excuses for most Christian movies. And starring Hercules, Superman and The Newsboys (I thought they were ex-DC Talk at first). They're in it too? How can this not succeed? :)

If you get a chance, go on youtube and give it an upvote! I saw a group of athiests are getting all their contacts to downvote it, so we wouldn't want to be shown up now would we? :cool:

I kinda dis-like the way that non-religious people are portrayed in this. While there are a select few militant atheists that like to make it seem like all non-religious people think the same way, most are not super cynical, or angry at the world, or interested in changing other people's beliefs. Frankly most don't care what you believe. I don't think atheists or agnostics or anyone else for that matter are upset because this is a christian film. The fact of the matter is that there are lots. I think it's the portrayal of non-religious people that is getting people upset much in the same way that you dis-like the way conservative christians are portrayed in non-religious media. Not trying to start an argument, just trying to point out that not all non-religious people are like the people portrayed in the film.

Well of course this is true, but you think that the atheists' who claim to use logic instead of feelings would understand that this is a mode to get a point of faith across... Also if you want to go into great depth... Situations like the one depicted in the video are real! They happen in campus' all across the world... Just search them up and if you don't want to; p.m. me and I can show you them...

As far as the beginning where the Grandma is confronted saying that here faith might be a fallacy of logic... I personally did that to my grandmother so you should not say that atheists never do that... I am living proof they do!

i know you said not "ALL" nonreligious people are like the ones portrayed in that film... But the movie never claimed to portrait all nonreligious people... They were creating a STORY in which people could relate too... I think that the atheists should use their superior intellect to figure that out instead of using emotion like us religious folks....

I am not directly blowing up on you.. I am really just blowing up on the thousands on youtube...

I hope the arguments used in the debates are better than the ones in the trailer.
 
Atheists getting mad and angry on Youtube, nothing new to see here! Let them have their show, we can send positive comments anyway. Yes it will be completely down voted, yes Christians will be shouted down on and they will try to pick away at God. But whatever, I find it sad they feel so pent up and angry about something they don't believe in. Either way, I'm looking forward to watching this film!
 
JimmyDiggs, the trailer didn't have the strongest arguments but it was still a huge step up from most Christian movies. Celebrate the good, encourage the great.

Jack, I think you're projecting. Atheists aren't innocent, these things do happen and this trailer doesn't make you guys look stupid or thoughtless. It's much more balanced than the usual 'evil atheist' angle.
 
Lol, Tintin, I'm not an atheist, just trying to point out that not all non-religious people are like the ones portrayed in the film.
 
It looks ok. I hope we see the day when Christian movies can leave the corniness behind. There have been a few but generally they are very cheesy and unreal. Still I can enjoy a corny movie if it is centered on Christian themes.
 
After watching the preview, I can't wait to see it. Christian Films are getting better in quality/production and acting..amen.
 
I'd rather wait to see what arguments they employ before supporting this movie. The trailer doesn't look very promising.
