christian rap and rock....?

I didn't say they were. The Jehovah Witnesses are only being as an example. And you can find Word Faith in the music,You can find Jesus is my boy friend,Jesus is my home boy,Jesus is my Santa Claus,etc etc etc in the music. If it's in the churches what makes us think it's NOT in the music also? (That not to say P.O.D. is preaching all of those or any of those,again just examples) Again the question still comes down to WHICH Christ are they preaching?

you're right; we shouldn't just stop at "this band says they're Christian" or "this band is on a Christian label" etc.
we need to dig into what the songs are saying & what the artist means to convey with them.
we don't gain anything by going to a church and not paying any attention to the sermon, or singing hymns without understanding the words coming out of our mouths.
there's milk & there's meat, and there's meat and there's partially hydrogenated meat substitute.

there's also that, even though the fig tree didn't produce fruit, and Jesus cursed it, that is a lesson to us. when we really look for the Truth in everything we read and hear and see, God uses the foolish things as well as the wise things in the world to His glory - and then it becomes really clear all the good fruit that comes from the things that His Spirit is really in!
and we learn to really Love those things, because He is in them, and even though we hate lies, we stop cursing the fallen things, but rejoice in the Truth revealed by the Holy Spirit in their judgement, and sorrow over them.

that's been my experience; before, i couldn't stand some kinds of music, but now when i hear the gospel in them, i love them, even though the sound doesn't tickle my ears, and music styles that i love, when i hear them coming out of the secular world, they sound hollow and sad even while they're meant to be happy songs, and i thank God for the perspective He shows me (!) but anguish over the perspective those songs come from.

As far as screamo goes.. I grew up on it :) my dad listens to a lot of heavy metal/screamo bands. So I kinda picked up on my dad's taste in music.

Did you listen to Disciple use some screamo? In moderation it can sound good. There's something very vigorous about it, I guess.

Disciple has some very Biblical lyrics.

I believe if you are doing it for God (accurately) it doesn't matter, God says to make a joyful noise. I love Christian rap, lecrae, Andy mineo 116 clique. I love skillet! I mean I think if you are worshiping God it's alright, we do have to reach other people, but I'd rather someone listen to Christian rap then like snoop dog or lil Wayne.
 
Saying christian rap is wrong to me is like saying the bible should not be print in any language except the original. The Bible says to be in the world but not of the world. which does not mean if the world started it then we can't do it if that is the case we should not where shoes or hats don't drive a car or turn on the lights because they were all invented by non Christians and are used for evil. We can use what the world knows and use it to spread the gospel as long as it is not against Gods word and I do not see where is says the gospel message should not rhyme!

i look at music, and styles of music, like a language. just like i couldn't understand you if you spoke in Chinese to me, but i might if you said the same thing in English or Spanish, rock music or rap or gregorian chant makes sense to some people's ears and hearts and not to others.
it's not the language that makes the message right or wrong; it's the message itself.
