Recently I stumbled upon a lot of games produced for vintage systems by a company called Color Dreams/Wisdom Tree.
I now own three of them for the NES: Bible Adventures, Exodus: Journey to the Promise Land, and King of Kings: The Early Years.
I think these games are great. The all incorporate scripture/questions either into the levels or at the end of each level, which require you to either know the Word or study it to find out the answers.
Here is a list of the games they've made that I've found:
Title / System/Platform / Release Date
NIV Bible and the 20 lost levels of Joshua / Gameboy / 1996
Sunday Funday: The Ride / NES / 1995
Super Noah's Ark 3D / DOS, SNES / 1994
King James Bible For Use On Gameboy / Gameboy / 1994
Bible Buffet / NES / 1993
Spiritual Warfare / DOS, Gameboy, Genesis, NES / 1992
Joshua: The Battle of Jericho / DOS, Gameboy, Genesis, NES / 1992
Bible Adventures / DOS, Genesis, NES / 1991
Exodus: Journey to the Promise Land / DOS, Gameboy, Genesis, NES / 1991
King of Kings: The Early Years / NES / 1991
I bought the three I have at a local game and cd store, but I've found most of these available on Ebay. Some of them can be pretty expensive there though.
Wisdom Tree is still operating and sells some of these games plus others for the PC at their website: http://www.wisdomtreegames.com/
There are also other games available mainly for the PC. The first christian video game was for the Atari 2600 and is called Music Machine. This game has been hard for me to find, and I've seen it quoted at $200.
Although I don't know too much about them and havent played them I am aware of a few PC games called Dance Praise with additional expansion packs, and Guitar Praise, that I am interested in.
God bless. -Tyler
