You are just 'convicted by the Sword of the SPIRIT' like your friends. Are you are born from a Christian family and have not learned 'practices' of 'repentance' spiritual knowledge in 'faith' and 'action' according to the New Covenant/Testament word/teaching of CHRIST of 'AGAPE'?

Have you as well til today and like everyone else in 'hypocrisy behavior', so far in togetherness, have only 'strained out a small fly in ministry for GOD and thus have swallowed a camel'?

Please consider 'this' before anyone is 'chastised'.

As it is written;

"You will know a tree by it's fruit."

GOD bless you and your friends as well in the name of LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Oh boy!

(Not conviction, nor a tree. Merely laughing that you're so sure you're right, you didn't bother reading what else bondservant said. If you did, you'd be Oh boying yourself, like many of us had to do already with ourselves. lol)

Christianity, the word derives from to be christ like has been the most offensive religion the world has ever known. From bombing abortion clinics, to taking up arms to fight isis in the name of Christ. From the crusades to anti semitisim Christianity is by far the hardest religion to understand. I am a christian and though I take no part in any of the above I ask God to forgive those that do, regardless of what is true and holy saints these are our roots. No wonder our effects on this world are becoming null and void. Not that we should ever give up but the body of Christ needs Christ more than ever before. If we were given the privilege of the great commission, to have stewardship untill the master comes back then we need to repent and ask forgiveness. We need to return to our first love and stop fighting among ourselves. We have become to arrogant, shallow, but most importantly we do not love as we should. Love is the most powerful message we could ever send to this fallen world. I think one of the most important stories in the bible is when Mary, Joseph, and Jesus went to the temple and they lost Jesus......ya see even though they were doing what God had asked and what was good ...their eyes were off Jesus.

Saints let us pray without ceasing for the body of Christ. Peace
We must remember that Satan and his followers pose as angels of light, so me must not just assume that when we see Christians commit atrocities in the name of Christ, that they really are Christians. True Christians do not rely on themselves, but on God who raisieth from the dead and God is faithful to His promises. This is not meant to start an argument, but to make sure that even Christians understand that when someone comes to Christ he is a new creature, the old has past.

Ah, yes, FredJames. His schtick is to always begin his posts with some variant of "Peace be with you" and then he launches into condemning the crap out of everyone and everything. Ugh.

Ah, sorry. What I didn't see, I assumed. (I have got to stop doing that.)

But, that's not true. The First Amendment grants you the freedom to pray, even in a public school. It's teaching religion when the lines get blurry, and, even then, it depends on who is teaching.
It is okay you didn't do anything wrong, I actually should have clarified in my earlier post. I know we have 1st Amendment Rights, but in a lot instances our amendments don't matter to anyone. Just look at the schools that refuse to say the pledge of the Allegiance because it says "under God" It was during class time while the instructor was speaking introducing the chapter and I could not stop and pray for her right there. I however, did pray on my own for her healing.

I just checked the profile. He's only given 1 LIKE!
Must be a family member of his.

So he didn't read Bond's entire remarks. 1 LIKE and didn't finish reading. Probably wouldn't change a thing if he did finish reading.

The term Christian was first used in Antioch I believe. It was INTENDED to be an insult to any and all who professed Jesus. Problem was, it backfired on those who would slander Christ and His disciples. The new believers gladly embraced this new "title" and it has remained THE identifying "title" of all who profess Jesus the Christ as Lord and Savior to this day.

While I do not agree with the OP, let me suggest that [in a certain way] intended or not, there is a modicum of truth in what Bondservant asserts.

When he states Christianity is the most offensive religion the world has ever known...........in a peculiar way, he is somewhat right. :)

Given that Christ (God) requires personal responsibility from all His children for all their words, deeds and thoughts, and given that our God is the ONLY living God, and given that Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven, and given that all who worship another God than our God will never receive eternal life...........

I can see how that COULD BE offensive to a whole bunch of people in this world. :)

Other than that............the examples given in the OP are way off the mark.

Perhaps the value of the thread is to make us more vocal when the 'Christian' label is misapplied

No doubt....one of more than a few misapplied, misused, abused and divisive words to be found being slung around like a wineskin at a Viking funeral!

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow;
and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

The first and most deadly horseman is religious deception!
The word conquer means “to come off with the victory”

that the largest organized religious “cult”on Earth today waged
the bloodiest battles ever, in the name of God.

The horseman has wreaked havoc on mankind with religious wars throughout history.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

a roman emperior took Christs name, and made Christ-ianity, many denomanations from.
a non religious person sees religious conflict in history, and wonder if God made this.
