Do they worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Yes. Do the Jews? Yes. Are they both anathema and apostates? Yes.

He certainly is forming an alliance. If he was trying to unite religions then how about uniting all not just spend most time praying with the Muslims. ?...? ...??....mmm

Islam means submission. Muslims are the people under that submission. Every man is our brothers. Yes many evils in this world such as Islam, but we gotta try to save some of our brothers. Jesus wants us to love our neighbor so we have to help them.

What comprises that submission called Islam, is a ball of confusion told as legend tells it to Mohammad ibn Abdallah by a mysterious being that seemingly destroyed Mohammad's life quite sadly in my opinion.

Every man may be in Adam but not every man is in Christ ...part of the NEW creation.

Muslims are not even close, their Divine Book is nothing near our Scriptures. At least the unbelieving Jews have the true Scriptures (if only they'd read and believe).

that wasn't my point. There are specific prophecies in the OT and Revelation dealing with the Jews with a promise to save a good portion of them...nothing specific dealing with the Muslims only as they are seen as gentiles of whom some come to believe.

No, I understand that argument. My point is twofold...
First, that the word brothers does not exclusively mean brother in Christ.
Second, that Islam and Judaism do seek to worship the One True God. They fail at this, but they are much closer to truth than any other religion in the world.

My bible tells me ALL OF ISRAEL will be saved as the tribulation period will kill off the undesirables while purging Israel and the Lord's churches!

If the Pope had said Islam is equated to Christianity then I might agree with you. However that's not what was said. The Pope only said muslims are our brothers.

Muslims = people

People = descendants of Adam whom God created

Jesus said we have to love our neighbors, even love our enemies, therefore we have to love our muslim brothers.
