Welcome to CC, Peaches. 
You've obviously figured out how to create threads in the forums, so we can skip that part. I'm sure you can also see how easy it is to respond and that you saw the list of available forums/threads when you selected this one.
If it is the chat rooms you are looking for, you'll note these links on the main page where you came in:
- You can add a photo of your choice (or not) by clicking on the avatar link I've circled
- make your choices from the 3 drop boxes I've pointed to
- click the blue CHAT NOW button and you're good!
Once you are in the chat rooms (which will be the Lounge by default), there's a drop box at the top labeled in red "room list" that will give you the links to the other chatrooms.
If you are trying to figure out how to work on your profile page or check your CC mail, click on the Control Panel button on the yellow toolbar at the very top of the main page.
