Yes. Fun game. I have it for the DS. I also have Chrono Cross. Is there anyone here who has played the game Chrono Trigger?

Have you ever heard of Shadow Hearts and Koudelka?I'm thinking about playing it again and beating it a 3rd time.
It's such a good JRPG with no fillers- just killer- so it might clock in around 25 hours which is shorter than most JRPGs
No, I haven't heard of those games.Have you ever heard of Shadow Hearts and Koudelka?
Well they are a bit darker but the later Shadow Hearts has some comedy in it. Koudelka is a horror strategy Jrpg and the Shadow Hearts games are in the same series. Shadow Hearts range from scary to bizarre to comedic. Unfortunately the games are price in physical form. No, I haven't heard of those games.
there's company called HAMSTER that's been able to get cool PS1 games onto the Switch 1 & 2, even Hard Edge ps1Well they are a bit darker but the later Shadow Hearts has some comedy in it. Oh? Thats cool. I think it's unlikely we will get an official remaster at this point. That might be the only option.there's company called HAMSTER that's been able to get cool PS1 games onto the Switch 1 & 2, even Hard Edge ps1
I played Koudelka. It was okay. The story was fairly trite but the graphics and gameplay were (for the time) pretty good.Have you ever heard of Shadow Hearts and Koudelka?
I've seen it but never played it.Is there anyone here who has played the game Chrono Trigger?
Actually, I think I bought the physical discs for Chrono Cross and I think they didn't work or something- I don't fully remember, but then I just went and got the PS3 digital version and played a little bit of it and I think I didn't like it because it was so different from Chrono Trigger.I've seen it but never played it.
Did you ever play the sequel, Chrono Cross? Gameplay, story, general "feel" are all completely different, in worse ways.
The thing about Chrono Trigger is that it really has "Got it", memorable fun characters, music that'll burn into your brain for being so catchy, a really smart RPG system that rewards exploration and finding items because most of your stats are actually tied to equipment rather than level- besides HP and it's also a game that doesn't bury you under thousands of battles with common monsters.I've seen it but never played it.

Well of course! How else to get people to buy the game guide? The thing about Chrono Trigger is that it really has "Got it", memorable fun characters, music that'll burn into your brain for being so catchy, a really smart RPG system that rewards exploration and finding items because most of your stats are actually tied to equipment rather than level- besides HP and it's also a game that doesn't bury you under thousands of battles with common monsters.
Also learning about the creatures is rewarding because they all follow a category system that you never see in menus but is hinted with dialog like how Dinosaurs are weak to Thunder element and will be stunned by it.
The only low point is probably the Golem Sisters if you're playing the game blind, I felt that those bosses are poorly explained or have terrible "Conveyance" on what you're supposed to do, so if you're stumped, they can kill you very easily- it's quite gimmicky.
But if you know how to stun lock them, they're a cake walk, I think you have to keep hitting them with different elements of attacks whenever they switch to that element's mode.
Also later in the game, the world opens up and doing side quests are extremely rewarding because you can get the best equipment and weapons in the game.
There's also many different endings, and even joke endings if you beat the final boss early in New game plus, like accidentally turning everyone into reptiles.
The third shadow hearts is a lot lighter tone wise. It's more bizarre than dark. Unfortunately I don't have the first and second game as they very pricey.I played Koudelka. It was okay. The story was fairly trite but the graphics and gameplay were (for the time) pretty good.
I got Shadow Hearts and fired it up, but quickly ditched it. That was a dark, macabre bridge too far.
I actually got two copies of the Chrono Cross game guides. I wanted to get the Skies of Arcadia one but it's just to much.Well of course! How else to get people to buy the game guide?
