Someone please explain to me how this is all supposed to be about keeping people safe. Families in their cars, windows all rolled up....listening to their pastor broadcast over a short range FM circuit. If you want to heighten people's fears that this isn't about protecting health, but is all about ushering a police state, then this is exactly how you go about it.

No, that isn't about safety. That's about religious oppression of Christians. Canada is turning very strange of late anyway. And hostility toward Christians is part of that. I wonder if this rule set would be used to threaten the Muslims in the area if they were to gather at the mosque in cars. Not that they could bow to Mecca five times a day but rather for the sake of community.

Fresh air and sunlight helps to thwart viral infection. Breathing the same air in a contained environment isn't healthy generally. TB is airborne. I wonder if that's ever been a consideration or if Covid19 is the virus of the day to erode civil rights.
From Covid19 to Communism?

people try to spin the news according to their agenda.

most churches are doing online services or families are holding their own in their own homes. It is no big deal. But some people wannna make a huge deal about it.

going places in your car isnt THAT safe, if you need petrol, you still coming into contact with others, plus you are polluting the air as you drive anyway. why would you really need to go to a drive through service if you can worship Him in spirit and in truth anywhere???

Probably depends on whether or not you're a Christian living in Canada as to how big a deal one considers these matters to be.

Bylaw, police to crack down on 'idiotic' behaviour, mayor warns Social Sharing
'We're trying to stem the tide of this horrific disease,' Jim Watson said Monday
Laura Glowacki · CBC News · Posted: Mar 30, 2020

"....Ottawa police and bylaw officers are now enforcing federal and provincial regulations intended to rein in the spread of COVID-19 in the city, Mayor Jim Watson said Monday.

"Effective immediately," a special bylaw team has been tasked with responding to complaints of gatherings of more than five people, whether in public or private, Watson said during a teleconference with reporters and other city officials."

Christians in America love pretending to be oppressed
Imagine being that selfish and irresponsible that she would rather put the entire community at risk as opposed to being inconvenienced for a little while

God said to honor the sabbath and keep it holy. That is a commandment. We cannot be held slave by a little bitty virus, or government ordinances that tell us not to. Some feel you can still do that from home, online, and some don't. I respect both sides.

Funny thing is, in New York, people just flouted the stay-at-home order to attend a rabbi's funeral. And no one ever dares say half the vitriolic stuff against Jews for doing that. Only the Christians. That is the point when it crosses the line into religious oppression.

You wouldn't need to go to such extremes if you read your bible and listened to the Holy Spirit for yourself

You would if the Bible said you did have to go to those extremes.

For the Socialist Liberals in our Country and especially in our Government........City, County, State, and Federal, this whole thing is an opportunity to FINALLY turn our Nation into the United Socialist States of America. And they will fight to the bitter end not that they have a perfect reason to do so..............

Just an update, thankfully the police backed off and no charges were laid....this church continues to hold drive thru services. A further note is that this is a rural farming area, and not everyone has broadband internet for streaming, some don't have internet at all.

Some Departments are not enforcing the shelter in place orders because they have far more important things to do to serve and protect the citizens they swore to protect. Now and again, here on the Local News, a Story will run about this........

Police are using their discretion to decide what to enforce and what to ignore in spite of the Politicians........

And THAT IS A GOOD THING in my opinion

Sounds like the local county prosecutor was appeased when the police presented evidence that everything was alright. The law says no big gatherings, but to have to see the reason for the law. It was to prevent spreading the virus and these people were taking acceptable precautions. Obviously covid-19 laws are new and still in the works. This sure doesn't seem like an attack on religion.

Police can be like that... is because of there perception of reality, everything is a threat.
