There are an awful lot of protestants.
Most of us are un-patchable.
So, since this rumor is logically impossible... I'd have to say it's not true.
I'm sure there ARE some weird things going on in the ecumenical movement,
but even if the pope tried, it wouldn't be possible to make a deal with all protestants, or even all denominations... it's far too diverse a group. In fact, there are so many protestant denominations, and totally independent churches... I doubt the Pope could even LOCATE all of them.
Basically, this is a rumor which is just logically impossible.

Don't worry about this. The Pope has been working on this for the last 500 years. Islam will take over the RCC long before the RCC takes over Protestantism.
In any case the real church will ever be overcome but will be united with Christ for eternity.

The JDDJ Document was not established to unite all protestant Churches , but to gather thee majority against the minority that uphold Truth in Christ . Thee RCC "Roman Catholic Church" along with it's king " Francis I " will suceed in it's counterfeit alliance that they call the Real Faith , due that God word speaks upon the fallen away.
The organizations that call themself churches , don't even resemble what protestant stood for , hence they have united with " Cesar "goverment in agreements upon the 501c3 codex . Let us observe this upon biblical truths , since when did tithe to The Lord become a end of the year check to be recived. This charade has been openly exposed by the Word Of God.
The lines between Protestantism and Catholicism have become blurred by ecumenism. Today, Protestants stand for very little that can be truly called Protestantism. The Counter Reformation by the Catholic Church, for the most part, has achieved its goals.
Paul went to the synagogue to Preach The Word of God , he did not own one. There were churches established in people homes. That had nothing to do with the "Ceasar" Goverments or "Harlot" Romanisim decree's.

Realistically, I could see him having a happy feelsy meeting with some major protestant church leaders and and declare that everything is fine. I don't know if that actually happened or not though.
He patched things up with the muslims what does that tell you??( 2 Cor 6:14-18!!) And he is not the only one to wish to do this!! Many pastors are looking to do the same exact thing! Many churches are hurting because so many are not going anymore,as to why this is,many see no difference from them and the world.
This is very sad, but reality is not always easy to swallow either. SO!!! When you find a good church of love, and talk with the pastor as to how he sees where his flock is going,then decide if you wish to become a part of that body of Christ.( heb 10:26) There is no perfect church but a church which seeks one another's best interest rather then there own is one I would hold onto!
