As someone who is very familiar with Appalachia, and specifically the Smoky Mountains in the 60s/70s, I can say she meant A LOT to A LOT of people for A LONG time. :cry:

Dolly had a lot of quips she always used on those late night talk shows ready because they would always ask about her personal life which she preferred to keep private from her public persona. Her husband Carl was not an entertainer or into showbiz.
