Little Backgroud:

I live in San Pedro, CA (Los Angeles, County).

Me and my wife are young parents and beleivers; I have lived in L.A. for 10 years (different neighborhoods) and I have always wanted to reach out to the people who live arround us; but never actually steped out in faith and just done it before; the more years go by, the more distant i seem to be from the youth in my neighborhood and people in general.

Now, the question: Has anyone overcomed this type of challenge anywhere else? if so, how did it affect your life and the lives of thos living arround you?
 
I've found a good way is to witness to people you meet. The checkout guy, the shoe salesman etc. Tell them what Jesus has done for you, ask them if they've trusted Him as their savior.

How did it affect my life... It brought me closer to God, that's for sure. It drove me farther away from some people, but that's not such a bad thing at all. As far as the lives of those living around me, I heard some people say they were challenged to be better Christians. And of course, the angels rejoice when just one soul is found!
