Mar 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
If JESUS is GOD, why does the SON not know?
Yes, JESUS is GOD.
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Even though GOD may be everywhere, HE can also be somewhere, all at once. In this case, HE was somewhere, and that somewhere was the tabernacle, which is basically a tent.
Exo 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Now, you and I have a spirit and that spirit dwells inside us. Our bodies are basically like a tent or tabernacle for our spirits.
Well, GOD has a SPIRIT also, and HIS SPIRIT can be in a tabernacle also, whether that tabernacle be flesh or something else.
In this case however, the Tabernacle is flesh, and the flesh is CHRIST JESUS.
Heb 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
The thing is, that GOD designed the flesh as a veil. A veil that separates us from HIM.
Heb 9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
Heb 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
At least before that veil was rent in twain from top to bottom.
A veil keeps someone from seeing what is behind it. If a veil is opened or torn (from top to bottom in this case), then we may enter in or see beyond the veil.
Heb 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Mar_15:38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
Now I've learned something over the years, and that something is that, something happened before. Something that we don't remember. Something that caused us to be here in the first place. So that we could choose, innocently, not knowing what happened before, whether we would love GOD or satan. That cloak of innocents was accomplished by the veil, the flesh.
Jer 1:4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Now if GOD knew Jeremiah before he was formed in the belly, HE also knew each of us.
What happened before is a whole nother story. But for now, the point of this study is to show why JESUS, being GOD, did not know when that hour would be as stated in Mark 13:32.
Now Mary, a woman favored of GOD was visited by an angel and told that she would have a SON. That SON would be Immanuel, which means 'GOD with us'.
Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Mat 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
If an angel comes to Mary and tells her she will have a SON and that Child will be The SON Of GOD, you can be sure she had faith and believed him.
Luk 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
Luk 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
Luk 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
Luk 1:29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
Luk 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luk 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Luk 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
Luk 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Now it is my opinion that JESUS, having GOD'S SPIRIT, that it would show in HIS personality. People around HIM would feel it.
But keeping in mind that HE has a veil just like all human beings.
I'm assuming that HIS Mother would likely have told HIM the story of what happened when the angel visited. Now that, and the fact that angels ministered unto HIM and also that HE would know scripture, then HIS faith would be extremely high. Also, HIS natural closeness to HIS FATHER would be there also. Meaning that GOD talked to the prophets, so why wouldn't HE talk to HIS SON? Keep in mind that GOD tabernacled in a tent before, and that tent had a veil blocking anyone from entering the Holy Of Holies except the Hight Priest. Then, GOD tabernacled in flesh, which tore that veil from top to bottom. Now, we can enter into that Tabernacle in HIS NAME.
Luk 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Mar 1:13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
Don't foget now, that this is all my opinion. But I think it is correct. At least for me, it is.
Now, JESUS is The SON Of GOD. This is because HE was Born Of GOD by The HOLY SPIRIT. The Only Begotten Of GOD.
This is where I get to the point of why I think JESUS had a veil while HE was here in the flesh.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that JESUS did not actually perform miracles until after HE was tempted by satan in the wilderness.
Now, keeping in mind that HIS mother likely told HIM the story of what happened with the angel, and that HE knew scripture, and that it is actually GOD'S SPIRIT that was in HIM, you can be sure that HIS Faith was very high.
Take a look at these verses:
Mat 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
Mat 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Now, in verse 4:6 above, the devil said 'If thou be the Son of God'.
If JESUS did not have a veil, why would the devil question whether JESUS believed HE was The SON Of GOD?
Also, since I pointed out that verse, I want to make sure that I also point out that satan was twisting scripture. What was really written was:
Psa 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Psa 91:12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Psa 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
So, the devil twisted the scripture to a tempting of GOD. The scripture actually says that the angels would keep JESUS in all HIS ways, meaning stay on the PATH.
Now with all these things going on, and not to mention that if someone was, sick, possessed, or dead, that all JESUS would have to do is speak to fix everything, then you can be sure that veil or no veil, JESUS knew HE was the Son Of GOD. HE had the Faith to know it!
It is my opinion that it was the veil that made JESUS not know the hour in Matthew 13:32.
And remember,
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
And also remember,
Joh 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
