If the government had to pay people with injuries who had paid tax and were kept waiting in hospital queues (closer to a capitalist system), you can bet the wait times would be faster for these. However, the ideal is not to give the criminals in government any money (i.e. taxes), and then they can't waste it on lazy health workers. (And the non-lazy health workers will make a profit from serving the people who pay them, when they need it, without a 5 hour wait).

The normal wait times in emergency rooms for non-emergencies is five hours. The normal wait time in a supermarket is not, so you are comparing apples with oranges, as they say.
