Perhaps some of you have seen that movie Courageous. During the movie the main character makes a list of vows that he and his friends declare in front of witnesses. My husband was so moved and convicted by this that he bought the book called 'The Resolution for Men', I read the book as well and thought it was awesome so I got 'The Resolution for Women'.

Ive had the book for a week now, usually it only takes me a day to read a book but Ive been stuck on one chapter and Ive felt God ask me to meditate on it for a good while, because out of all the 13 declarations, this one is one that I am truly awful at and Im wondering if anyone else ( I know you're out there!) would struggle to keep this vow (regardless of whether your male or female):

I do solemnly RESOLVE to embrace my current season of life and will maximise my time in it. I will resist the urge to hurry through or circumvent any portion of my journey but will live with a spirit of contentment.

Right now Im struggling to be content with the fact that my degree takes 3 years and Im in my 6th year and nothing has ever gone to plan. Im supposed to be working the job God has called me to since I was 14 and paying off my huge student loan. But no, I failed my very last placement (before my graduation) and here I am writing an appeal letter while having to study three pages of writing at why I failed and having to make a rebuttal of all the claims. Reading an outside view of my failures repeatedly is utterly humiliating and a bitter taste Ive gotten familiar with for six years.

But God has held my hand through it all, and Ive seen his handiwork through the whole thing, but I still can't help but feel bitter as to why God wants me to be like Andy Dufresne (Shawshank Redemption) and have to crawl through what feels like 3km of poop just to get my darn degree!!

What are you content or discontent about and how can we encourage each other about this?
