Dude, if you're convinced that lord Jesus died for your love life, God rewards your faith with a hot godly mate, go ahead. Believe it or not, I as a straight man enjoys all kinds of epic romance and happy endings, but I'm also wise enough to know that those are fictions, back in reality I've got my own mill to grind and my own cross to carry, Lord Jesus had died for my sins, including ENVY, so I'm not in anxiety or under pressure to keep up with the Jones or the Kardashians or anybody.
Not a dude.

Maybe we should start a thread, pursuing Christian marriage, teaching all singles, and married to that subject. Encourage teachings from good pasters too.
I listened to a few last year, quit good, very helpful to Christians.

Lol ssshhhh, that will draw him in and we'll just end up with 25 more pages of the same absurdly presumptuous and Biblically questionable notions he's been dumping in this thread 🤣.

Or how about a thread on surrendering to God's sovereignty, being satisfied in the good life, and restraining the lust of your sinful flesh?

I don't, unless you can articulate "with who" and "for what". Rod can't, after 20 pages and beyond. All he did is playing dumb, "what you do mean?"

No, you asked me why I want marriage. And I am asking what made you assume that I want it. I never said that I do.

I like your avatar flower Snackersmom, where did you find it??

Thanks! I'm a big botany nerd lol 🤓😜

I don't remember where the pic came from but it's Passiflora incarnata, a species of passion flower that grows in temperate climates.

Then don't. Neither do I. I'm only against the IDOLATRY of marriage, that you become a Christian to find a mate to marry, you get married to prove you're a real Christian, as though earthly marriage is your salvation.

Yea I have them in the Bouquet List.
Why don't you post some more flower pics in there? Only seoulsearch, carriePie and JesusGal have posted any. I can't get the guys to...IDK why. You'd think they wouldn't pass up the chance to court some ladies on the Singles Forum.

Haha well courting can get complicated in a hurry, I don't blame the gents who hold back 😉😒.

I might post a few pics but I've been pretty busy lately. Catching up on work and projects and helping a friend plan her wedding in Oct. 💒

I don't know anybody who believes in or supports any of that. Do you?
Then why is marriage such a big deal especially for Christians, if not just virtue signaling? I've said it many times, that marriage is a custom for all mankind, it was only elevated into a sacrament by the 4th Lateran Council in the 13th century.

If you are asking why the 4th Lateran council decided to make marriage a sacrament, I do not know. I wasn't alive then. But my best guess is because the 13th century Carholic church liked to control dang near everything.

If you are asking why the modern church is so obsessed with marriage, I'd only be guessing there too. I do find it annoying, though I don't know anyone who elevates it to the levels you are describing.

Side note: I don't know anyone who turns the topic to sex as much as you do. Like, get a grip dude. Random person mentions Jesus as our divine bridegroom and you shoot back with "You want to have sex with Jesus!!!" Its weird and inappropriate and I can't believe I have to be telling you this........

See, "weird and inappropriate", that's why I'm content with celibacy. Everything I've ever known about sex is negative, especially from the church; and in modern time there's this magical "flip", that as soon as you get married, sex is transformed from the most shameful and sacrilegious act to the most joyful and honorable act, even glorying God; at the bare minimum, this leads to the problematic impression that marriage is simply a license to sex, you get married just to have sex, because "it's better to marry than burn in passion." Forgive me for not buying.

I'm not sure how/why you ended up with the impression that "marriage is simply a license to sex". If your pastor is teaching that then you need a new pastor.

There's nothing shameful about wanting sex. That's perfectly normal, even for single Christians. The problem is when you give in to the desire (which can happen in many ways, such as watching porn or reading graphic romance novels).
