In a Truth Social post Monday, Trump said: "I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff on all products coming into the United States."
Either he's completely incompetent and doesn't know how tariffs work or he's deliberately trying to deceive. Either way he has no business being in a position to be doing it.
First, tariffs aren't "charged" to the exporting country but to the importer (the US). The importers will just pass their losses on to the consumers which will mean higher prices. Second, he's going to start a trade war, just like he did in his first term. It's truly hard to comprehend the level of ignorance going on here.

Yes it costs more money to us. But then we will not buy those products. which means in the end, it hurts the bottom line of the ones who are making it and exporting it to us..

You just cant figure out who's in the plkan to replace the ones picking your crops or working on the construction sites in the US that's all. And who needs the oil imports coming from Canada, 25% wont hurt a thing.
