mixing good and evil was the very 1ST. (deception)...

the books do contain a lot of 'sweetness', but you have to ask yourself, as the apostle Peter says,
'is this a cunningly devised fable?'

many people do not understand that the 'works of satan' can come across as
'very lovely-touching universal emotions-entertaining-mesmerizing-charming'.
this is 'exactly' how EVE was deceived...it takes a very Spiritually mature Christian
to watch a movie or to read a book and to understand the spiritual agenda behind it,
whether it be 'good or whether it be evil'...

How could they not remember anything from the books?

Did they just skim LOTR to win a golden ticket?

"Anything" was hyperbole. But they didn't even remember the major plot-points. And I have no idea why they would call them their favorite books under those circumstances. I was flabbergasted :p

Culturally Christian. Fiction like Narnia isn't meant to be taken seriously in the way his Christian apologetics are. There are different genres of literature.
I just wonder if he was born again. he called the Book of Genesis pagan...

what a bizarre statement, un-believable...

Huh? What are you talking about?

Huh? What are YOU talking about?

What's more bizarre than suggesting one man's faith in Jesus Christ isn't enough to make him born again? ? Is there a two-tier system?

If repeatedly confessed faith in Jesus Christ, and years of witnessing to others doesn't demonstrate the faith of one man how can it do so for anyone else? If Lewis wasn't born again by the Holy Spirit, none of us are born again by the Holy Spirit.

He get's the same deal as everyone else.

It would be wonderful if everyone in the world read the Bible. But in the real world most people obtain knowledge of good overcoming evil from books like Narnia and Lord of the rings. God uses all sorts of channels to reach people

Yeah, that's true

read mere Christianity, the great divorce, or the four loves.

there is a difference in His writings on a few levels.

you have a pure narrative that has a lot of symbolize like narnia and the space on.

then you have ones that play out but have christian truths clearly stated like the great divorce and the screwtape letters.

then you have his pure theological thoughts in books like mere Christianity.
