We used to get heartbreaking dogs in like that. We would have to surgically remove the chain that dug into their neck until the skin grew around them. They would've been tied out for years without relief or exercise. Maggots had to be pulled out of the skin that were buried all over the body, especially the back. It was very sad.
Yeah I imagine some people are heartless in the way they treat animals, I've taken in dogs and cats abandoned before and the squirrel videos I put on here remind me of my Dad he and some other guys saved some that were in danger my Dad kept one he stayed with him run up his leg around on his arms he eat nuts on his arms and once on his head on top of his hat
That's pretty cool. They are surprisingly smart.
I've raised a couple South American Squirrels myself.

12For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. 13And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
