Dangerous Smoke Across Canada & Northern States!

Everyone, please stop what you are doing for 5 minutes and pray for the Lord to quickly send steady rain to quench Canada's forest fires and clear the air of smoke. We don't want wind or lightning, just rain to quench the wood.

This morning I was tempted to call the fire department to report a fire, but didn't know where it was. The smoke was thick at ground level like a fire was nearby and smelled like burning plastic! I coughed and went inside after looking down the street.

Then I learned that is was Canadas forest fires and wind direction must be going south through the states. There are people from here to Canada with lung challenges. Please pray for their safety and check on those you know. There are smoke maps. If it hasn't hit you yet, get prepared. You don't want an air conditioner drawing air from outside.

Here in Australia, we have bad bush fires every now and then and the air quality gets really bad. For those suffering in Canada and USA, you have my sympathy and prayers.

I was wondering what the strong smell of burning plastic was from, so I looked it up.

To summarize in my own words:
Near the fire burning wood smells familiar. This is a combination of gasses/VOCs from incomplete combustion.
Smoke over time exposed to direct sunlight undergoes a reaction that neutralizes some of the volatile organic compounds. The remainder that is left is creosote and benzene.
Both are carcinogenic and harmful in a number of ways.
Since there is far more bio mass burning than any other thing on earth, those chemicals are concentrated. This is why we never have smelled that odor from wood.

Some people wear laboratory masks, ie N95, but the best thing to do is to limit exposure. Stay indoors until the plume passes or rain cleans the air. If you must use the air conditioner, remember to set on circulate.

The smoke reached down to the Northern half of the USA. I'm give or take 800 miles if not a little bit more so South of a cluster of fires Northwest from me and Thursday it was so thick and dense I didn't believe it was from Canada, I though it was a fire close to my city.

The air is clean and You've even cooled it down on this hot week of the summer. You are filling our wells so there is no drought and providing for your children what we need.

Great news is that our Father created scattered thunder showers across the smoke belt of the eastern US all the way North of Ontario Canada!
The rain is moving east and north east with LOTS of coverage.
We know this is no coincidence. When we hear thunder, please let's thank He Who gave us this rain.

I'm not saying we just got through the Tribulation, just that before the rain yesterday reminded me of Matthew 24:29.

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light...

Good news is that there's still plenty of opportunities to get people saved!

This prayer request became very personal for me because someone I care deeply about lives in the Red Rock area. Please join me in praying for everyone's safety: for the families, firefighters, emergency workers and all the wildlife.
