The Bible says we all have sinned and we fall short of the Glory that God has for us. But by God's Grace and the Blood of Jesus we can be forgiven. I have actually come across a few people in my life time that feel that they are really good people and that they do not need to ask God for forgiveness. Well I guess according to the scriptures that these folks are calling God a liar and don't believe Him, which I think the Bible calls that a sin in its self. We all have to confess our sins for God to forgive us. I believe God wants to confess those sins out loud to someone that can be trusted not to gossip about them. There is Power in the Spoken Word, that is why I think we have to speak our sins out and call them under the Blood and Believe they are Gone.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we are saying that God is a liar and that we don’t accept his true teaching.
