Here is something to think about. Jesus said this Himself so it cannot be tossed aside as something that might have been misunderstood. James talked about it when he said "Be doers of the Word not just hearers." One thing that we need to understand is that we can be doers and still be wrong. Our actions need to be out of Love and Obedience for the things Jesus has sent us to do. Just doing something to be seen and praised by man is not what Jesus expects. He expects us to Pray in His name and ask His Father what we need to do, then when we get the answer be obedient to that call in our lives, because that is God's Will.
Don't put on a show doing religious things because you think it might impress the people around you.You don't want to hear Jesus say, "You don't impress me, You're out of here,".

21-23 “Knowing the correct password—saying ‘Master, Master,’ for instance—isn't going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, ‘Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.’ And do you know what I am going to say? ‘You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves important. You don’t impress me one bit. You’re out of here.’

God knows everything. God can do everything. God is everywhere. The world had a beginning and it will have an end. God is loving. God is righteous and holy. God will bring everyone into judgment. There is a heaven and a hell and they are eternal like God. Jesus loved the little children. These truths were taught to me at young ages (like 7 and under). They still guide me today.

God is always watching. Others are not always watching. Ultimately, we perform for an audience of One.

yes amen. Break up the fallow ground, sometimes it hurts, self pride, to go onto the right direction, where the way is straight and narrow, it's like we go on the straight and narrow, and find it difficult at times, because there are other's there, and we bump, or what not, but this is breaking up the fallow ground, and being in forgivness, watering it with the Word of the Lords living waters, staying out of the dry, desolate places, which is the wide, and broad st. which leads to spiritual death, and the straight and narrow leads to LIFE.
