Dating an older man: How old would you go?

honestly, it's one of the last questions i would ask, because i really don't care that much. as long as he's happy, employed and secure with his choice (or at least content in the path he's on, and working towards his goals), i'm cool with that.

while i'll certainly be interested in what he shares about his life (including his work) i can think of 100 questions i'd rather ask than "what do you do for work?".

...won't go any younger, either.

If he was exactly the same age? I'd tell him to take a hike.

Yes with no doubt, as long as he's relationship material and respects me, 5 years is my limit for older guys.
 
My preferences to respect my father are MY preferences. Nobody said anyone had to like them. Yes, when I first came on to CC, I used to like someone who was in his mid-30s. But my preferences have changed since then. I value my relationship with my father more than any relationship outside of God that I can have and I intend on keeping it that way.
 
I've never dated an older man.
(or a younger one for that matter)


Just sayin'.
 
A friend of mine her husband is 10 years younger than she is. When they married I think she was 32 and he was 22, they started dating when he was 18 and she was 28 or 29. They met had a lot in common and fell in love, now they've been married for 13 years and have two kids.

I remember when she first thought she might have feelings for him and was nervous about the age difference, I told her I thought he was a really nice person and what the heck give it a chance. She did and it worked, thank goodness.

yes, i find lots of symbolism in barbed wire. strange perhaps, but very true.

nope. i'm not on a dating site nor have any personal ad to speak of. but i've spent plenty of time figuring out who i am and some semblance of who i am (and am not) looking for, so the words come rather easy. : )

well, i'm not sure what "gypsy" you're referring to. i'm not making a ancestral reference but more of a figurative one.

one of the dictionary definitions of a gypsy is a "free-spirited, nomadic person" and i definitely resemble that. : )

I like to keep the boundaries on my decade. I was born in the 80's...so any guy born in the 80's is fair game. However, God has a plan, and He might introduce me to someone who is outside this limit. I'm okay with it, but again, ideally I'd like the person to be from the 80's.

I think my problem with the 90's is that I remember 1991-and so on. It would be weird. He would have been in diapers, while I was busy watching Rocko's Modern Life.
 
Depends on the guy and depends on the woman, I feel. If you look at the Old Testament, there were sometimes big differences between the age of both. I feel it really comes down to (1) do both people love each other and (2) would God approve. If they each other then I can't see God disapproving.....

To make a long story every one of her friends who did ridiculed her 39 years ago never married and raised a bunch of illegitimate children. My sister will be celebrating her 39th year of marriage this summer.

This guy's the exception for almost everything. He once created an awkward moment just to see what it felt like. His business card says "I'll call you".
