There is WAY more to it than having someone just saying "someone is crazy" to actually getting them committed. City/County and State Psych Ward's beds are actually really hard to come by because of budget cuts and so they do some pretty intense tests and insurance has to accept it before they even consider it. Often times there is even a waiting list. If your daughter does convince her father that you need some sort of assistance then you can use that to your advantage by taking the opportunity to talk with someone about the unhealthy situation you obviously are currently living with and stategies of how to deal with it on a day-to-day basis and ways in which you can change your behavior to make things better. There may be other resources or options for you out there that you are not aware of or support groups that may be able to meet some of your needs in ways that you haven't thought of before. These trained specialists, know these resources and have ways of getting you connected. So it may not be a bad thing to be willing to take some help, since it sounds like there is a whole lot more going on in the family core than just normal teenage anger, if she is making these extreme threats.
