David didn’t always win.
Good morning in Christ Jesus.
I don’t know about you, but I thought that David always was victorious. Nonetheless, see the title of this Psalm:
• Psa 56 -> “To the Chief Musician. Concerning the silent dove, those far off. Of David, a secret treasure, when the Philistines took him in Gath.”
I believe that David was arrested in 1Samuel 27. It seems that, at the first moment, the king of Gate caught him (what is natural, once Israel and Philistia was enemies. During all the time that David dwelt there (one year and four months) he lived a lie (pay attention carefully – 1Samuel 27:8-11).
Although the Creator, for mercy, blessed David, don’t take him as an example. Jesus is our unique example and He is the Truth (John 14:6). The alliance of the Creator with us has superior promises and blessings (Hebrews 8:6), but it has superior behests.
So, instead the destruction of the enemies, may Jesus’ provision in your life supply them (Ps 23:4; see Matt 5:44,45) so that you can be a blessing amidst them for the glory of His name and for salvation of His people (as it took place with Joseph – Gen 37,39-50).
