Before the recent movies I would have said Marvel. Marvel has Xmen, Marvel has Spider Man. But after the movies Marvel and DC have excreted lately, I have to go with neither.
There is nothing new any more. They just keep dragging up old storylines, retreading them and tossing them back out. Worse, they keep changing integral parts of the stories (Thor is an alien from another planet? Really?) until there's just no use keeping track of them anymore. I mean how can I be a serious fan of Spider Man anymore? Which Spider Man should I be a fan of? They have remade that whole story so many times I lost count.
Also every second of every movie, from Marvel and DC, is tailored for maximum audience response. They are no longer interested in telling a story, they are making movies to cater to what people want to watch. The last movie I tried to watch was Avengers 2, and every line every character delivered was so cheesy and fake it was intolerable. It felt like I was watching a movie made by a computer, where they loaded up the computer with everything that elicits reactions from the maximum number of people, gave it a general plotline and let it churn out the dialog.
So I have to vote for neither. DC and Marvel have both stopped telling new stories. When either one comes out with something new I'll check in on them.
