We just need to understand that where we have grown up in the teachings by tradition is a yoke that is hard to break until we truly seek Him. Truly, it is not anything but the Word of Yah, which was made flesh and dwelt among us which truly saves. He is our ha'Mashiah, Yahushua! Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yahuwah!

"eyer asher eyer" means I am that I am.

"scholars" say YHWH means "the self-existent One"

I personally take this as the meaning:

Exodus 34:5-7, "Then Yahweh descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the Name of YAHWEH. Yahweh passed in front of him, and proclaimed: YAHWEH, YAHWEH Almighty, merciful and compassionate, longsuffering, and abounding in righteousness and truth. Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity, and transgression, and sin; but by no means leaving unpunished those who are guilty; Who visits the sin of the fathers upon the children and the children's children, to the third and fourth generation."

So, you too agree that YHWH is not just a name, like Jennifer, Daniel, David etc.

So, you too agree that YHWH is not just a name, like Jennifer, Daniel, David etc.

Yah is not just a name, it is THE NAME!
This is the name above all names!
There is none other like it!

Yah is
Yah was
Yah shall be forever

Through Yah all good things were created
In Yah is love greater than anyone might know
Yah is the beginning and the end
Yah is life everlasting!

Who is Yah? I speak English, I am sure he has an english name.

If I was speaking Hebrew, or you were a Jew just calling your God by his jewish given name, I could see it. But what you said just sounds silly..

Laodecia, I would strongly suggest you read the entire thread before making such a statement.
There is a lot going on concerning certain groups of man attempting to hide the names of Yah and causing others to be deceived by a lack of knowledge or understanding.

Some call what those who proclaim the name of Yah to be a sect, unbiblical, and false doctrine, that they might keep hold to the commandments and tradition of man, causing people to forget the name of Yah for Ba'al, as it was written of old, and even continues to this day.

and here we go again. Who is trying to Hide Gods name? He is my God and he has a name in my language, if that is trying to hide his name, then wow, just wow.

It is posts like this which has caused all the backlash, your cutting us down stating we are trying to hide his name? wow, just wow

and you know this how? Where you around back then to prove this?

I was not around, but it is commonly know that the Gospel of Matthew was written to the Jews.

In all your comments did it ever dawn on you, that you are speaking to and trying to convince either a Rabbinical or Messianic Jew your gentile view?

In all your understanding, you seem to miss something as many have here. The Jews are still the Jews and the Gentiles are still Gentiles and you prove yourself to be a very ignorant Gentile, when go into hand to hand combat with either a Rabbinical or Messianic Jew. If you really understood the word as you love to conivnce people of, you would not even be attempting to convert a either a Rabbinical or Messianic Jew to Gentile Christianity.

Come to full age and study to show yourself approved and lay this down. Your professing yourself to be wise, but showing us yourself to be a typical Gentile Christian that has no understanding.

Who is Yah? Yah is the Father, the Abba, Creator of all the heavens and Earth.
What is His English name? It is Yah, it is not "God", or "Lord", as has been used to try and hid His name in His Word as reprinted by man.

What do you think you are saying when you say "halleluyah"?
You say praise Yah.

I did not ask that, I asked if he saw the original.

And even if it was written in Hebrew, well lets see. Is Matthew going to use his greek name when writing to the hebrews? (so how silly the argument is??)

actually it is they who are trying to convince me to their jewish view. not the other way around,

I have no idea what you are trying to say, this makes no sense, who said I was trying to convert a Jew? I am not the one saying Gods name is Jesus and that is all you should call him, and anyone who calls him anything but jesus is mocking and not honoring God, it is THEY who are doing this (and have been over and over for the few year I have been here)

Come to full age and study to show yourself approved and lay this down. Your professing yourself to be wise, but showing us yourself to be a typical Gentile Christian that has no understanding.

And you my friend, are speaking of things you do not understand, Condemning me as unlearned because of a false precept you have, and in doing so. Just made yourself look bad.

Try thinking next time before you post. most importantly, See what the argument actually is, before you go off half cocked with false information. proving you do not even know what is being discussed.

Yah is not an english word, so not sure why your trying to force it to be one.

Can you prove what Adam called God? No, I did not think so You can say it was Yah, but you have no proof, just speculation, which makes this whole line of reasoning and discussion putrid and unchristlike, for all of us, we should not even be having this discussion.

What do you think you are saying when you say "halleluyah"?
You say praise Yah.

lol.. Ok, if you say so.

Thank the Good lord and my Abba I have to drive again for another hour, I am starting to go crazy again at the things I am being told.. Amazing, just amazing.

Praise your name Father of All, You are my Abba, And I thank you for adopting me as your child! Praise God

The gospels were written and given for all of us to go by.
Jesus did not say in the great commission when you go out to all the nations only teach them part of what I said, because most of it was just for you. No this is what He said;

Matthew 28:16-20

The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I'm curios why there are so many here who say "Lord" in place of His name instead of doing as we are told to do.
Do you not know His name?

Psa 22:22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee

Psa 102:21 To declare the name of YHWH in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

Isa_12:4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise YHWH, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

Zec 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, YHWH is my Elohim.

Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be saved.

Heb 2:12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the assembly will I sing praise unto thee.

Acts and Hebrews were originated in Greek. Christians, especially Gentile Christians have never been commanded to master the Hebrew language and Hebrew names. There's a rabbi that writes a weekly column in our Sunday paper that never uses any name for God, writing G-d.

We Christians have the Christ of God, one called Son of the Highest in Luke 1:32. for name you didn't list.
In Luke 1:31 Mary was told to cal her son Jesus, which is our English form of the transliterated (Latin) Iēsous from the Greek Ἰησοῦς , which refers to the Hebrew Yeshua.

Each culture on earth has it's own acceptable
version, some not able to speak anything sounding like Hebrew or Greek is spelled.
I have a Hispanic friend that always corrects me when I say Jesus, insisting on what sounds like "Hey seuss". They spell that Jesus with the u long as in you, instead of u short as in us.

It would be impossible to retrain all Christians on earth to agree on and enunciate one acceptable name.

Isaiah said to call (Jesus) by more names.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful (‏פֶּלֶא‎ pronounced pele'), Counsellor (‏ יָעַץya as), The mighty God , The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. There are many authorized names in Hebrew.

You prefer the tetragrammation YHWH. That's OK, but there's not much practicality in mixing Hebrew with English unless using English to explain Hebrew.

Well, the New Testament has Emanuel, interpreted God with us, for Jesus.

Revelation 19:16 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

I AM is a precious name of God.
Exodus 3:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,
I AM hath sent me unto you.

Why insist on your choices?

When I said that YHWH is not just a name (in the same way Barack Obama is a name), you said that I should study the Torah and the Paleo Hebrew and change my mind.

I am glad that you seem to have understood what I meant to say.

Since, the greatest revelation we have of God is in Jesus Christ, I believe we shouldn't act surprised if Jesus, the Lord and the Christ, is YHWH.

So, I repeat, I do not believe that YHWH is the proper name of God the Father. I believe YHWH is the name of God (the Holy Trinity). Jesus Christ is YHWH. HE is the "I am".

Make no mistake, there is neither Jew nor Gentile (Greek as it was in that day).

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in the Messiah Yahushua.

Published 1982 - the Authorized KJV from Holman House Publishers - but I think any Authorized KJV should say the same?

Most will say the same, if they were reprints or re-translated after around 1600 AD, when the letter J was added to the English alphabet.

ιησούς του ναυή

Ah, it worked. I went to the "translate . babylon . com" site and typed in "Joshua" and asked it to translate into Greek and the above is what I got --- then I put that Greek in and asked it to translate it into English and it came back Joshua.

Now we need a true Greek scholar to translate this for us.

Straaaaaaaange, no?

ιησους ο χριστος
ιησούς του ναυή

The top one is what I got off of that site
The 2nd one is from the Textus Receptus - saying iesous ho christos

Same Greek word in modern Greek as in Koine Greek for Joshua.

Hahahaha!! I'm glad you actually took the step to try that.

Here's a hint... go to Google translate, and try translating anything from English to Hebrew or vice verse, interesting stuff...
