I like steak...especially a nice big fat porterhouse or ribeye on the grill....and I will go in prayer to the Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus and thank him for it and ask his blessings upon it and then hammer it with a baked potato and salad!

me too. A T-Bone sounds real good (I have two in the freezer I should thaw out)

I also love the steak of the word. the great riches in Christ jesus.

Oh yes Im sure Christ hated it when they used "all those names".... lol

He actually yelled at them about it:

Mattithyah 23:39, "For I say to you: From this moment you will not see Me, until you say: Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of Yahweh!"

Why because they would not say the name of Yah...

But am I considered a evil pharisee in this matter because I AGREE WITH the Messiah?

lol. See how foolish this sounds (not talking to you hizikyah)

He quotes a passage written in hebrew (by his own admission earlier in the thread)

Yet he interprets all words to english, but one, then gets mad because we do not understand what he is trying to say.

news flash. When your posting something WRITTEN IN HEBREW to a HEBREW SPEAKING PEOPLE. of COURSE they are going to use his HEBREW NAME. That DOES NOT MEAN we need to CALL HIM BY HIS HEBREW NAME.

the fact you interpreted ALL the words but ONE into english, and did KEEP THEM ALL HEBREW shows how tricky you are trying to be.

[SUP]52 [/SUP]Woe unto you, lawyers! For ye have taken away the key of knowledge. Ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in, ye hindered.”

Luke 11:52. Any thoughts on this verse? Is the Name perhaps the key of knowledge?
bump..

I know that by that time it was forbidden to speak the Name.

You might try researching the noahide laws and finding out what happens to a person who says the name of Yah when they are not a Jew....

what does that have to do with me?

Jesus would have spoken to the jews in their language, to the greeks in theirs.

I am sure if he was speaking to a greek who did not know hebrew, he would have used the greek name, not the hebrew one. Or if he was speaking to ladybug, he would have used his english name (he created the languages you remember right?

Of course they Got mad, He claimed himself to be God. And he judged their religion. Like people in here, THEY GET MAD WHEN YOU DO THAT

So in all of those instances. Does God tell you to call you by his hebrew name only? Or does he care if you use his name in your own language.

Your caught on a worldly plane....

It doesn't matter what language, if the Creator pronounces HIS NAME, that IS HIS NAME. Any change means it is no longer His name.

My mouth, tongue, and lips are capable of pronouncing Yahweh.

LOL all of the english language is derived from other languages, but no, no problem there, only a problem when the Creator's Name is spoken....

I do not understand why people who demote the use of the name of Yahweh saying it is Hebrew.... what about every demon's name in your bible having retained it phonetic sounds, no problem there huh?

His name is Jesus.. and Jesus said to pray " our Father " , some call Him Father God... or just Father.. Or

The following are some video based teachings on this very subject that might help some....

1 Kings 22:5-7, "And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day. Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king. And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him?" KJV

1 Kings 22:5-7, "Then Yahshaphat said to the king of Israyl; But inquire this day for the counsel and advice of Yahweh (#H3068 - YHWH). So the king of Israyl assembled together the prophets--about four hundred men, and asked them; Shall I go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain? They all answered him: Go up! The Lord (#H136 - Adonay), will deliver it into the hands of the king! But Yahshaphat asked; Is there no longer a prophet of Yahweh (#H3068 - YHWH) here, so we may inquire of Him?"

...

When these "prophets" they told him,

"They all answered him: Go up! The Lord (#H136 - Adonay), will deliver it into the hands of the king! "

LOOK at his reply:

"But Yahshaphat asked; Is there no longer a prophet of Yahweh (#H3068 - YHWH) here, so we may inquire of Him?"

Can some one that disagrees with my view concerning this thread please explain to me why when the prophets said "Go up! The Lord, will deliver" Why would Jehoshaphat think they were not of Yahweh?

I'm not really taking sides here. But there is a modern translation, Southern Baptist from Lifeway that uses "Yahweh."

"1 Yahweh, our Lord,
how magnificent is Your name throughout the earth!" Psalm 8:1

Not sure what the reason behind this editorial decision, but it is there! And throughout the OT!

Sorry, it is Holman's Standard Christian Bible or HSCB

Ok... IF that is His name... WHY did He wait until only around 400 years ago to tell everyone this?
I think there's a big problem with that.
Something to Think About -- YeHoshua, YaHoshua, YeHushua, YaHushua, YaHshua, Yeshua, Iesous, Iesvs, Iesus, Jesus

-- Yeshua... They changed the name.. Do you think God doesn't know when someone is truly calling on Him ? No matter if we say Yahweh or Jesus ?... We're talking about the Almighty here

. Did you know the number for the Egyptian goddess is 666, something to do with snakes and her name the sound of a snake hissing. all of these little coincidences -- JESUS sounding like Hey Zues in Latin and Spanish languages, and when you take the vowels out of the name IESUS you have ISS which is pronounced ISIS and now some spell checkers advise changing Iesus to Isis. How does all of this compare with the original transliterations? It doesn't as the English transliterations of the Original connect to and compare favorablly with the Original and actually point back to the God of all Creation, YH WH (YaHweh).

So if we want to say His name with accuracy ... It would be Yahweh

Surely it is not for using a Hebrew word that the saints were persecuted "for His name's sake" by the pharisees, but for following God.

Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty[El Shaddai], but by my name JEHOVAH [the badly transliterated YHWH] was I NOT [emphasis added] known to them.
And without interruptions:
Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
---> It is NOT a salvic issue and never has been. This Hebrew roots thing on here is getting really aggravating and tiresome, thread after thread... Hebrew roots dont save... Rooting in Jesus is what saves.

AMEN to this for sure!

Question... if Abraham did not know His Name, how did he pray with it?

Genesis 12:8, "And he went from there to the hill east of Beth El, and he pitched his tent there; Beth El was to the west of him, and Ai was to the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh, and there he prayed with the Name of Yahweh."

Because of a mistranslation:

Exodus 6:3, "I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Yaaqob as Yl Shaddai, but by MY NAME YAHWEH, was I not known to them?"

was I not known to them

or

I was not know to them

There are 43 (If I remember right) negative affirmations, and every one I know of is translated correctly...except this one. Now I understand this is new, but if you disagree how can you explain Abraham praying with a Name he did not know?
