Demons and Nightmares? Your view?

Hello everyone, I LOVE this site, everyone is so fruitful in their advice and so generous in their prayer! I have been reading a couple of threads recently and am alarmed at the amount of threads regarding "demons" and "Nightmares" I mean I could just be saying this because I myself have never seen any, but I just cant see that these are true!!
I thought i would open this thread to give you guys a chance to share, your views and your personal stories, dnt feel you have to i am just interested in hearing people's stories......

Well, there are demons on this earth that will try every trick there ever was, whether to fool people or, if that don't work, to scare them.

However, I think most nightmares are nothing more than nightmares: You brain being random during night and making up nonsense stuff.

I have once experienced what I think was something evil in the room, and it went away the second I said the name Jesus.
Could have been me imagining it, could have been the real thing, what is important is this:

The devil can whisper lies, scare us, put dangers in our way, but he can not force us away from God. We are under the protection of the creator of the universe. No matter their tricks, the only one who can remove you from the hand of God is you, so don't fear the dark one, he has NO real power :)
 
I've had a couple of dreams where I've actually prayed and God woke me up (surprise surprise :D ). They weren't fun dreams, but they were just run of the mill nightmares. I have heard of a person who had a dream where the devil was just scratching his face over and over. He woke up to find he had blood and scratch marks all over his face. However, that happened because he was too conscious of the devil. Demons (and Satan) aren't anything to worry about so long as you have knowledge. And that knowledge I'm referring to is knowledge of God's word. A good verse is James 4:7 - "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
 
After letting God take weed from my life i had a dream. I was in all white and so was this other thing in my room i was laying on a bed,
and the other thing was walking out of the room.I knew it was trying to trick me i knew it was not leaving and i did not trust it,
it came back in the room grabed my leg now listen very close it was really trying to control me i was awake and trying to say stop let me go and nothing was coming out i knew i was dealing with a demon. Nothing has happen to me after that .
 
I don't have nightmares often, but when I do they're awful. :( and then I'll dream that I wake up and in the dream I'll feel like a chill go down my back and feel like the bed's shaking and it'll happen a couple times then I'll finally actually wake up....though once I was convinced it wasn't a dream...and I couldn't speak at all. So if it wasn't a dream I wouldn't have been able to get rid of whatever it was (though I think they're jut bad dreams...). But I am a Christian, I know I'm saved, I know I've been redeemed and I love Jesus with all my heart. Nothing can separate me from Him. I don't know how those have been able to occur. Though it hasn't happened in like...a month or so
 
I had only bad dreams growing up. Wasn't til my early teens that the bad dreams eased off, but even then i still had them regularly. Eventually i learned that when i woke from them, to pray, and they wouldn't come back that night. Finally i got smart and prayed before i slept and they stopped for the duration i kept praying about them before bed. I never really thought of them as demonic.
Far as demons go though, yeah, first of all we have biblical evidence of their existence and that they do interact in various ways with humanity. Also i have had personal experience with them, with possessed people, and hearing credible people tell their stories as well. In fact, the spiritual experiences i've had, even with demons, are part of what helps me keep my faith.

Unfortunately I'm not grown up :p but yeah, demons do exist...I mean you'd have to be crazy to think there are no such thing as demons. Though I never thought I've had personal experiences with them
 
Brother Jonnoboy, Just remember this, and you will never have to ever be afraid of the dark!! LOVE has no fear. Not does the giver of this. We give, because,

Jesus first gave this to us! 1 john 4:17-19 To think upon that which is good,helps a great deal as well.( philippians 4:8-9) We can do this, as we renew our minds in God's Word daily! ( rom 12:1-2) notice the scripture?? That is because it is not my words which will ever help you bro,it is God's Word that can only do this! Evil is real,we see this daily,we can see the devil out there! But we are not of him,we are of Christ who dwells in us! ( eph 3:17-21) For we are grounded in LOVE!! amen!
 
wow, lil christian... that is THE cutest polar bear cub on your profile. haha. The wolf pup was pretty cute too. Nice choices.
 
As a former satanist, let me tell you that they are very real! However as a Christain (April 21, 1986) Jesus is even more real and has defeated them all!

well I am glad you haven't, its something no one wants or wishes on themselves. All I can say is that God is faithful, even when you are weak he is strong, through those times, he shows himself mighty even in my nightmares and spiritual attacks, as long as I stood on his word he defended me against the darkness and helped me to endure, I my self am learning to trust God. I'm learning about his love for me too, its hard to recieve it, but I have and am, if that makes any sense.
