True! I remember when Detroit was prosperous (though it's never really been all that safe). Biggest turnaround of a large city from A to Z in my lifetime. I'd say Los Angeles is in the number two spot and headed for bankruptcy in a decade.

The last guy I got to know from Detroit that moved out here to California told me the following, "You can get murdered on any corner in Detroit at any time. Reasons really aren't needed anymore."

Shanghai, China (CNN) – At the Shanghai Auto Show, car exec after car exec is talking about big investment plans - finding Chinese partners, setting up factories, possibly building cars here for other parts of the world.

It's hard to imagine Detroit – home to the American auto giants – maintaining its prominent role in the industry. However, there are rumblings in China that perhaps Detroit could be a good launch pad for Chinese companies looking to break into the U.S. market.

Yes zone, the Chinese are now requiring entry into U.S. markets and our natural resources in order to keep funding our massive annual deficits when are primarily a result of sweeping welfare payouts, global military police actions, and enormously bloated government.

They've been buying U.S. companies and even a bank to get access to our banking system (which our corrupt politicians approved) and moving Chinese companies into the U.S. to compete directly with U.S. companies on our own soil.

They are planning on building Chinese cities too (so they don't have to hire American citizens for those Chinese companies being relocated onto U.S. soil courtesy of U.S. politicians) which few Americans believe yet even though these cities are already planned and exist all over the world right now.

When your population comprises one out of every four people on the face of the earth: you need to places to put them and jobs for them to work. So the Chinese way is to displace workers in other countries and simply move in and takeover. Guess who the denizens of those cities are loyal too? (hint: not the U.S.).

The Great Leap Forward (simplified Chinese: 大跃进; traditional Chinese: 大躍進; pinyin: Dà yuè jìn) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) was an economic and social campaign by the Communist Party of China (CPC) from 1958 to 1961. The campaign was led by Mao Zedong and aimed to rapidly transform the country from an agrarian economy into a communist society through rapid industrialization and collectivization. The campaign led to the Great Chinese Famine.

Becker, Rummel, Dikötter, and Yang each compare several earlier estimates. Becker considers Banister’s estimate of 30 million excess deaths to be “the most reliable estimate we have”.[45] Rummel initially took Coale’s 27 million as a “most likely figure”,[66] then accepted the later estimate of 38 million by Chang and Halliday after it was published.[49] Dikötter judged Chen's estimate of 43 to 46 million to be "in all likelihood a reliable estimate."[67] Yang takes Cao’s, Wang Weizhi’s, and Jin Hui’s estimates ranging from 32.5 to 35 million excess deaths for the period 1959 – 1961, adds his own estimates for 1958 (0.42 million) and 1962 (2.23 million) “based on official figures reported by the provinces” to get 35 to 37 million, and chooses 36 million as a number that “approaches the reality but is still too low.”[47]

Not all deaths during the Great Leap were from starvation. Frank Dikötter estimates that at least 2.5 million people were beaten or tortured to death and 1 to 3 million committed suicide.[101] He provides some illustrative examples. In Xinyang, where over a million died in 1960, 6-7 percent (around 67,000) of these were beaten to death by the militias. In Daoxian county, 10 percent of those who died had been "buried alive, clubbed to death or otherwise killed by party members and their militia." In Shimen county, around 13,500 died in 1960, of these 12 per cent were "beaten or driven to their deaths."[102]

Detroit needs to become the poster-child city for what happens when liberalism/socialism is allowed to run amuck unhindered, with full reign to implement its will.

On a positive note, many in China are Christian.
Jesus did say the nations would become obedient and discipled to him.

I'm fine if America becomes filled with discipled obedient Chinese people riding the bikes in that picture.

Gov. Rick Snyder, R-Mich., said Sunday on "Face the Nation" that granting Detroit a government bailout would be the wrong way to help the bankrupt city.

It's rare to see a politician actually try to fix a broken municipal government rather than just get the municipal on government welfare.

Despite making provision for freedom of religion in the Chinese Constitution (article 36 added in 1978), China has never honored it.

So it should come as no surprise that in 2012, China's government launched a new three-phase campaign to wipe out unregistered house churches which they view as a hostile group of dissenters and force them to join the official Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) church system controlled by China's government and whose "theology" entails a great deal of actual heresy no genuine Christian could ever adhere to.

In the first phase, from January 2012 to June 2012, the State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA) sent out a large number of government spies and secretly investigated house churches across the country and created files on them.

This was followed by a wave of crackdowns, which is ongoing right now, as part of the second phase. The vast majority of Christians have resisted and refused to join the government's authorized "Christian" church.

With little exception, the mainstream liberal media is refusing to cover these blatant human rights violations occurring in China.

Phase three is expected to begin from 2015 through to 2025 and the Chinese government intends to put Christians under their boot using government force much like Mao did in 1958.

Persecution has come to China's Christians and severe persecution is coming shortly.

The metaphysical worldview of Marxism is state atheism and every Marxist country without exception has engaged in sweeping persecution of religious people on a regular basis as a result. It's impossible to have true freedom of religion in a nation built on the principles of state atheism.

We'll probably see an increase in Christian refugees from China but the vast majority will continue to be non-Christian with most loyal to China.
